The games industry is in a terrible state and might genuinely be the most out of touch with what consumers actually want. This stuff started when devs started believing they were "too big to fail". Routinely, they'll make bad design decisions (both political and apolitical) and when their potential customers complain about it, they'll scold said customers on Xitter about it. It creates a culture where there's this antagonistic relationship with developers, especially with increasingly ridiculous microtransactions.
I love how how when the streamer is involved or its a game by a streamer they like then its wrong to pile on. Yet for so called content creators this have been the year to pile on games and hate every game for content but now its wrong.
No bro consumers are just voicing their displeasure with shitty unfinished games that devs think we are obligated to enjoy

I'm 32. I'm seeing all the drama. From my pov, the younger generation take it like this " you have years of making videos game, how can you fuck up a game on day 1". The younger generation watched us get Halo, gears, call of duty, counter strike. That's all they want for they're generation a hand fool of good games just like how we got when we we're younger. No reason to fuck up. No reason for so many bugs. If you lean to make a game, then beta the fuck out of it till the studio thinks it's ready, don't rush it. We will rage for it but at the end when it comes out. We will rejoice
5.6 million people played valorant yesterday… spectre divide? About 7 thousand…….. I think they tried too hard to make a copy of valorant(from what I’ve seen) and it’s failed miserably and the devs seem to just be clueless as to why it’s failed

I don’t begrudge people for being pessimistic about gaming. Too many folks have been burned and disappointed by companies making all these fake promises, only for the games to end up being terrible. Yet, they have no trouble taking all of your money!
What people fail to realise is that even though Shroud is a co-owner, he still is a streamer first. And he is marketing his own game as a streamer, while the product isn't finished. And ofc being a streamer you will always have that conflict of interest while funding your own game. Because if we are being honest, if Shroud wasn't affiliated with the game way less people would give it a go and know about it. So it's always marketing first as a streamer

I'm so confused I haven't run into any major bugs and very few minor ones like I'm talking one or two and i have 24 hours on the game. I'm so confused on what's not polished. I mean crews make no sense but i just ignore crews.
right I've been grinding ranked everyday since day one and ran into 0 issues, I think I maybe had 2 matches where the servers were laggy out of the few 100 I played?
playing games, being good at games... has nothing to do with designing good games. shrouds game was an interesting gimmick but it was a gimmick.
shroud also did not design the game, he didnt even come up with the mechanic of the 2 bodys lol

It's unfortunate timing spectre coming out when deadlock is in beta because valve is just so much bigger and the game is pre insane gun play feels pre good in spectre tho

@Prodbytodden that's nostalgia talking. Those games didn't get any updates and were filled with hackers where they could even change your account. It was new to us so we had the honeymoon effect.
There were some good games. But compared to today you really can't compare it. The engines are better, the hardware stronger, the servers bigger and faster, updates that we never really got.

Zoom out. The golden age of gaming ( 2000-2010 ) everyone was playing the same games. We had WoW, CS, Halo, and CoD. Everyone was united. Today, there are a billion different games and nobody plays the same stuff anymore. The players are divided into too many different extremely small pieces. We need a game that is so impressive and so addicting that it makes everyone leave behind what they are currently playing just to spend time playing it. We haven't had this since WoW and everyone is yearning for it whether they realize it or not.

CS:GO came out, then we got a Chinese version called Valorant. Now we have a Chinese version of a Chinese version which is Shrouds game. It’s just Valorant with borderland graphics. Trash

now see I've played this game. I love what's there but it's so empty. the abilities aren't flashy enough to make them feel powerful, the reveal spaces discourage fast paced gameplay.
they said the abilities are gonna stay minimal, they don't want abilities to be the focus...but ONLY issue I personally have is that the matches are short I'm fine with hat in cas but even ranked is same rounds

cod is a powerhouse and is still the fps of choice. the shitty practices have affected all games unfortunately...but still for me there's no better fps than cod.

You haven't played Spectre if you are comparing it to Val or CS, ADS-focus alone makes it into a completely different experience. I'm enjoying Spectre Divide way more than Val because of my background and childhood with COD ( im imm1 in Val in case you want to say bc im bad at val ). No games are worse than they were before. Nothing had any soul anymore. Its all washed money grabs and its super easy to feel. Thats why simple games like space marine are doing great because its just a simple good game that they were making back before 2010 with new graphics and engine upgrades its great. And of course ppl will be more critical of game shroud is backing because he constantly calls out other shooters and devs for their games being bad but when his game looks like shit he expects no criticism like get real. The only good thing about spectre divide is the cel shaded art. This is what Xdefiant is to cod or Splitgate is to Halo. Take the base game, add a new mechanic and art, then boom the comparisons will skyrocket your games marketing.

Nobody did anything to concord. Nobody played it. Nobody even played the open beta. It looked generic as it gets and the characters looked atrocious. It's hard to get past that. Then add the fact people that played it said it was OK but nothing special and nothing we haven't seen before and that it cost 40 dollars and you get a game that nobody wants.
concord was a MUST to bully..1 the game literally had its potential but they put stupid characters, the UI literally looked so outdated, & right now, the hype for overwatch like games...is not there...i think like a handful of people realize, each year or a few years, is the year(s) of certain genre games..like the years of BR games & as of right now, its extraction/survival games. think outside the box my guy
