I had a 79 ts250 and it was a great bike,I rode the hell out of it and so did every body else for that matter :) by the time I was finished with it the frame had broken and been welded in half a dozen places, the tank was full of bond-ow and the pot had to be re-sleeved. I road it to work and technical college then thrash the heck out of it on the weekends and it rarely missed a beat,I would ride it over 100k's most days, rain, hail or shine.
In some way all the bikes of that era added something to the big picture, moved the needle forward in some small way, even if just as a stepping stone toward another bike. And now a bike like this would be a fantastic way to live the dream again on errands every day, to get back to the Seventies and those days of all that off-road fun and insanity.
Love that bike. The color scheme on it is truly gorgeous. They don't make many new bikes these days, IMHO, that have as nice of colors on them. Great video. That would be a very fun bike to putt around town on.
Very cool bike. I had its smaller bro. 73’ TS185 one of the best little bikes I ever owned. I’d probably still have it but it was stolen back in the mid 80’s.
Sweet ride ken I had a T500 . Bought it from a cop, loved the good old castrol R smell. Good times ,thanks for the memories brother. Have a happy New Year ,Nice day for a ride.
My first bike was the little TC90 with the dual range transmission. This was the big brother bike I aspired to. This would make a great bike for me today to remind me of the little TC.
I bought it, Kaplan Cycles was great to deal with, my father and I were emotionally charged when it arrived. The last time I saw mine was 1986.....I will now teach my daughter how to ride the same bike I learned on. Thanks Ken and your team.
One of my first, a great bike back in the day. Had a friend that raced Maico 500's, he rode it and was impressed considering everything. Wish I hadn't sold it.
In 73 I was 16 & looking to purchase a new enduro. I read all the tests in the magazines. These were as good as any that yr but personal preference I went w/ a Yamaha endure DT. Never regretted my decision.
I had a 73 ts 50 and it was the first bike I had ridden with a hand clutch and the carb behind right side cover was at the time something I had never seen before Its cool to see how much motorcycles have evolved since then Today every manufacturer is producing high quality stuff for the most part Wonder how much improvement the next 50 yes has in store for us I know if I get to see it I'll be 99
Yeah, I know it's just me and my age but..."Personally I" don't understand how you can pass on some of these iconic(to me) bikes. Yes it's a business and there are bills to pay, responsibilities etc. In the early 80s and 90s I spent all my extra moments restoring more than a dozen vintage bikes that of course I now regret selling them. This is just one model of many, I would have loved to worked with but never had the opportunity. Congratulations to the bloke who eventually puts this in their garage.👊🏼 Doesn't need a whole lot of attention at this point to bring it up to my standards.👍🏼 Not compared to what I had to work with so many decades ago.😂
You mentioned maybe main seal because it's smoking a little bit if it should clutch side sure it's sucking a little tranny fluid in I'd be more concerned with the flywheel side it'll run lean ruin the main bearings and you know what else... That thing is pretty mint pop the flywheel give it a pressure/vacuum test. Definitely worth it. Jeff Castine can take care of that.
MINES Silver!! But I’ve got the indicator kit BUT I NEED AN EXHAUST!! I can’t get it through MoT until I can find an exhaust! Mines 1974 with 10,000mioes on it.
Feliz Año 2023, felicidades, y prosperdad, saludos amigos de KAPLA AMERICA mi pregunta es que precio tiene esa Suzuki ts250 1973 por favor gracias., vivo en Venezuela.
Where is the history Channel??? What your doing on utube in minutes is by far better than any show out there , gas monkey's, diesel bros, OCC'S , there is nothing like KAPLAN AMERICA 🇺🇸!!! Can't wait for 2023 from the KAPLAN family!!!
Every thing right with that bike ,not so clean you can use it , i have the same year and model . you might need a battery to get the lights going , and the front sprocket covers as like gold dust . 😎

Humbling to think our bikes can outride and outlast us.
😢
TS185 was faster, lighter, higher revving than the TS250.
