    I replaced the strut and bottom mount on E93 yesterday. One of the E12 bolts rounded off and the captive nut on the old mount started spinning so had to lower spring arm to get access to cut E12 bolt with hacksaw. It them took me an hour and a half to get the bolt back in the spring arm as it wouldn't line up the other side. Lots of swearing later I eventually managed it. I'm in agony today with all they gymnastics that were involved! Managed the other side ok without having to lower the spring arm.

    I usually compress the shock while the bottom mount bolts are already loosen and take it out and put in in quickly before the shock decompress. Great video though just needed to see if there’s a specific orientation of the mount!

    Nice work ….I did this job on my 12 E92 335xi today however I took the shock out instead of dealing with having to lower the spring arm. It seems a bit less fuss that way and you have easier access to the lower shock mount.

    Moral of the story. Don’t use impact guns on small bolts. It strips threads too easily. Laziness doesn’t save you any time when threads get stripped.
    Also bmw recommends to replace these bolts with new for a good reason.

    Hi sir, may I know why my e90 320d m-sport 2011 didn't have Bump Stop, i noticed that when I want to replace mount kit sets on my rear absorber?

    • @aaanton11

      They might have disintegrated or you might have the bilstein b12 shocks which have them internally, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

    What is your opinion after installing bilstein b12 suspension kit? Does the car run too hard?

    • @aaanton11
      @aaanton11  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No not at all, it's a firm ride but progressive. Normal driving the springs take bumps well, as they compress things stiffen up so its unlikely you will bottom the car out and the cornering is improved, the stance is a nice height not too low to make the car unusable, it will still go over speed bumps. Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

    Hello Aaanton i need your expert advice my suspension the gap between the tyre and fender seems to have gone down by itself in the back and front any idea what the issue could be it is driving me nuts! I am about to put new struts on the front, the back ones were done in 2018 with new springs?

    This looks like it would be sooo much easier to do if you did at the same time as replacing the rear shock….i.e you wouldn’t have to lower the arm or remove the bottom bolt from the shock. Just undo the e-bolts and lift the whole shock out with the old mount attached
