Depending on your source material editing can take waaaay longer than filming. I made a couple mini-documentaries in college and when you're not dealing with a script and know exactly how you chronologically expect a video to go sorting through hours and hours of footage and hundreds of photos to cut into a 15-20 minute video is a lot of work. In that sense workflow hacks aren't necessarily going to save you a huge amount of time compared to the time you spend choosing and organizing what goes in and what stays out, then iterating on that until you get something you like. It's a lot of work but I loved doing it.

The first half of The semester was on the flat bed in the second half was on the computer. After that semester, they switched the entirely to non-linear editing. Even when we shot on film, it was sent to a lab in digitized. A former student bought one of the flatbeds for nostalgia sake.

I was streaming video on my website for about 5 years in the early 2000s with Macromedia products and Real Producer Plus, Windows Media and QuickTime from digital tape converted to digital files for editing so when you brought up Flash I thought that was pretty cute 'cause I actually taught classes in that, lol.. This was great, thx! :)

I absolutely love creativity and I've found myself loving photo editing and video editing as well and I end up making short little 2 to 3 minute clips just on my phone using like eight different apps that I found. So far I've got probably between 20 to 30 different kinds of edits between photos and videos that pretty much nobody has ever seen😅

I actually work for Adobe, in real life, for money and everything-- my name is, in fact, John Adobe III, son of, of course, John McAffee (his maiden name)-- and I can confirm that they, err, we are indeed full up on money, and so, as we say, it is morally justified to pirate "our" software.

Man, I haven't thought of Stick Death in, you know, the amount of time since it was relevant and you made one.
Also, the bit about pronouncing gaussian reminded me of having a DE-gauss button on ancient CRT monitors that I never knew what it did but it looked and sounded cool, so that was a hit of nostalgia too.

dude i knew you were a quality dude.
quality people add examples to the end of what they're talking about- it takes time and you could easily skip it and just make this a non-stop laundry list of talking points but like i said, you're a quality dude.
also, liking + commenting for the algo.
