Are people in NY stupid? You hear sirens and see lights you pull OVER AND STOP! You don't keep going, like in the tunnel. Even if you're in another lane. Simple common sense, the more room emergency vehicles have the faster they can get through. By continuing, even in another lane, you are impeding their progress.
