  • This is my reaction to Chernobyl 1x2 REACTION Part 1 | "Please Remain Calm"
Come through acting, come through costuming, come through score!
Good lord this is an excellent show and I need to pop extra anti-anxiety meds before next episode. Also, can Jared Harris be in literally everything? He usually plays characters with such power and gravitas - it was genuinely a surprise to see him being cast aside and insulted this episode. I'm really enjoying seeing Jared Harris (Valery) act alongside Stellan Skarsgard (Scherbina) - it's like a warped buddy cop situation.
I'm only two episodes in but am incredibly impressed by the show and am not surprised it won so many awards. Hyped for ep 3!
Feel free to request anything you'd like me to watch. TV shows/films, trailers, music videos, performances, interviews - whatever! Just put it down in the comments.
    Please remember to like/sub!

The washing of the car and the clothes actually helps. It’s not there to wash away the radiation, but to wash away dirt, dust and any other particle, that has come into contact with radioactive material. Because if you would for example remove your clothes before you washed it, you may get radioactive dust and dirt from your clothes into your lungs or on your skin, which is WAY worse then having it on your led shielded clothes.

I'm so glad you're continuing this series! Trust me, even with the difficult-to-watch scenes, the acting, cinematography and sound design ALONE make it worth watching, let alone the masterful and suspenseful story telling. You'll enjoy it...... in the end, you'll see! :D

I love so many of your reaction series! I adored Band of Brothers and the Pacific and I was so excited to see you've started watching Chernobyl - you have so many on the point reactions.
Your WTF attitude at the beginning was how I was feeling through out. There was just so much confusion, your editing is amazing too.

Yes, and many Chernobyl tourists have visited them but because they are still that dangerous, the Ukrainian government walled the basement of the hospital in, so no one could visit these dangerous places again.

Reason because these officials are so stubborn is multi-faceted. But here are some reasons to be afraid:
Vladimir I. Rytov, a deputy Minister of Fisheries - executed in 1982 for smuggling millions of dollars worth of caviar to the West.
The chairman of Technopromexport, Yuri V. Smelyakov was executed in 1984 for "systematically taking big bribes". Alongside with his director of imports, V. A. Pavlov.
Bella Borodkina, head of the restaurants and canteens department in Gelendzhik, was sentenced to death for receiving $758,500 in bribes. 1983.
Yuri Sokolov, director of a gourmet food store, executed for corruption. 1984.
Yes, before Gorbachev and his Perestroika and Glasnost policies... but the fear is still there. Sure, these executions may have had a strategic purpose... but still...
edit: the method was execution by shooting, lead and brass is cheap

    • @JulietteReacts
      @JulietteReacts  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I actually have watched it! (Well, not the latest series yet). I just have a sort of love/hate relationship with the show.
Tom Ellis kills it but the lack of daring (writing-wise) pissed me off. The absurd amount of resets (in Chloe and Lucifer's relationship and with her believing his true identity) was maddening.
I also got tired of the procedural element and wished it would break away from it entirely in favour of an all out genrefest.
I agree it's definitely fun! It just never gave me what I wanted from it. I also low-key am pissed off that Netflix picked it up because I feel the writers absolutely took the piss with character development/plot resets in the early series' and the show should've failed as a result, ha!
But I still watch it. It's just an easy background show for me.

If you think this is frustrating and maddening (and it is), you should try living in the US under a pandemic with our Soviet puppet (and his minions) in charge. He makes these bureaucrats.look both brave and hyper -intelligent. Makes this show much harder to watch and easier to empathize with the second time around.
