can you believe i wasted an entire file trying to get metal magic armor just to have it not be available for earth magic users.
metal is not just a damage magic, technically it's also the most durable and tanky, designed to use it's clash advantage to shield, hence it's slow movements. struggle is... the thing's just too slow... so why use it as a primary when you can have it as a backup for when you feel like your OG magic isn't doing too good.

including the status effects magma does more damage then metal with metal having 1.3125x and magic having 1.35x

Okay but by this exact reasoning alone poison would be better than both of them being as it’s 0.75 + (5% DoT * 20) making it 1.5 scaling damage in total per attack.
The problem with this logic is that DoTs are usually too slow to genuinely matter unless it’s from a 20% size ultimate art blast with a massive amount of power from your build to make it matter. Initial damage is far more important, as it’s way more difficult to recover from and the damage adds up faster.

Welp, picked metal as a primary.
Build is gutted, you cant hit anyone because of how slow it is.
A random bum if you make him play arcane oddysey can just dodge it even when you change the shape to spear.
Its pretty good in pve though (especially against mages), you click a button and even a 800 level atlantean takes 1/10 of his HP trying to hit you through your projectile.
(I have high ping though so wind mages beat me)

try metal paladin with eagle patrimony imbue on your magic. makes attacks a bit faster

I forgot to say I have Water as a secondary. My main strategy for fighting anything is to hit the Water Beam and then do a pulsar (pve) or surge (pvp) because resistance. I cant hit anything in pvp without surge so I pray the Beam hits.
Now doing an acid conjurer because the floor is lava and its so fun to be able to hit stuff.

Kinda late response but it would be basically even better as a primary but not recomended because of the speed.
Probably best thing to use fot that would be magma primary and metal secondary because the are the most op magics in the game and do insane dmg

Winds alright. Initial damage is almost as low as poison, but all the other stats it has could give shadow a run for its money. Less laggy than metal too, great magic for beginners but everyone just uses it as a joke magic.
