i dont care what anyone says but this is one of the best looking cars at least with in its price range. cool thing about these cars is that not many people have them as lets say a corvette stingray. truly a beautiful car

No Seb, don't 'upgrade' to the 380 Cup. It's a full on track car, so that move doesn't really make sense for you. Much, much more logical would be a true upgrade (if you want to stick with Lotus) - a 2018 Lotus Evora GT430. The bump up in quality inside n' out is massive, similar to the way the 720s is a jump in quality for McLaren.

Seb, why would you upgrade to that? It's not a daily driver. You want a car that you can daily, you should probably look at Lotus Evora GT430.

As awesome as this looks, lets be honest Seb, you don't want that car. Your car is hardcore enough as it is, you even said it's not the most comfortable for long journeys. I would class Geneva to Monaco as a long journey and that is a regular thing for you. If you did get one of these 2nd hand, you would definitely need a daily driver.. Thanks for showing it to us though, and to Lotus for giving you the access they do..

Seb, you nailed it in the head when you said, you don't do enough track to justify this model. Plus don't forget, the biggest complaint you had on your previous Lotus is how uncomfortable it was on long trips. Going to the Cup from your 380 will do just that.

Think the Sport 380 is perfect for you. Looking at the price change between the two, and for the amount of track time you do, you have the right one
The AMG GT-R has a very similar traction control system on the dash.

I know the Mustang you road around in wasn't that great, but if you want something really different (GT350) hard for you to get. But they sound great. Really great! They also drive great. I have experienced it. You need to get the track pack option unless you can buy a R. Don't get anything less than that.

What is the suspension on the new cars like? I got the chance to drive a 96 Elise a while back and absolutely loved it, but the suspension was pretty rough and could feel all the bumps in the road. I hope they have fixed it since then.
How is that Renault Alpine thing going? Are you still looking to buy one? (not that I could get you one)

Do you think Lotus would ever make a supercar? Perhaps something powered by a V8 with size and presence on the road (a bit like the AMG GT-R/911).
380 HP in a 1200 kg car is like having 500 in a 1700 kg car , only better because lightness is better than power .

Your Sport is a great car and a supercar in it's own right. The power to weight ratio and road feel, I'm sure, can put many of the "exotics" in perspective as a real 'driver's' car. Still think you need to consider a silver wrap on it with maybe a black upper/cockpit treatment. The carbon and gold accents you already have are perfect. If it was mine I'd even consider a satin silver. Keep up the great vids.

Upgrade? I think you know the answer. If you don't do track days a lot, your sport 380 is fine already. If you really want an upgrade get a 570s spyder.

Seb why not just get an EVORA?
*I LOVE that they've stuck with totally analogue gauges, rather than going the digital route like so many other manufacturers. While I love digital displays, like on Lamborghini's for example ,there's something special about a plain old analogue gauge.*
I would say that if you had driven the 380 Sport on the track a lot and begin to feel the limits, only then it is worth thinking about the Cup version. If the car is not limiting the lap times on track then the Cup would not bring much benefit. As I understand you drive a lot on public roads, there the Sport would be less uncomfortable.

Don't upgrade because it looks like Lotus is starting to move into bigger and better things. Just wait and sell your car when the time is right don't rush and make a mistake.

Since you can't customize one I don't think you should get one, it's not that different and for that money you want to be able to make a car your own
