Hi Ann, Yes double Lemon is fine .. we are not Drinkers either , so I get that. I use Alcohol to bake and cook with though; as it evaporates and leaves behind a great flavour boost in some recipes. Having said that Vanilla is almost always a perfect substitute! well done.! God bless You and keep you safe in 2021.

My Lithuanian grandmother made these especially at Christmas. She used cardamom also. Great with tea. 🎉.

Do I have to use the Brandy and the lemon and orange zest?
You can always do your own thing. But the brandy and orange peel is the highlight to the flavour breakthrough here.
