My goal is to achieve the same moody vibe with “white” walls. We shall see - stay tuned!!!
Jessica, what an amazing transformation with just changing the wall color. This project will truly be a life changing one for you and Mark. I remember when my husband and I downsized to a two bedroom townhouse after retiring. There were so many things we wanted to do to make our space feel like a "Big Hug." So I know how important it is to move slowly, source the beautiful pieces that reflect your personality and taste. It takes time and money. Ultimately, when you open the door you want your room to stand up and greet you with that "Big Hug." I can't wait to take this journey with you and Mark.

Love this! My husband and I just bought our first house and have gone through some of this process. We (mostly my hubby) scraped popcorn ceilings off the living room, dining room, and staircase ceilings. I'm glad we only had to do those three areas! We also went with white paint for our rooms and choose the one that was white without being "too white"! I wanted that bright and fresh feel (especially for our older home) while still allowing the rest of the room to feel warm and cozy. So excited to follow your process and get some inspiration for my own spaces as they continue coming together! :)
Congratulations on your first home - how exciting!!! Scraping off the popcorn is just not my favorite task. It’s not hard - it’s just messy and a pain. 😆 We have a few other smaller areas that we will tackle ourselves - but this big space was a job for the professionals. Lol!!! And you definitely understand the hard job of picking out a white but not a white white paint. 😅 Thanks so much for following along - I can’t wait for it to all come together!!!

Hey Jessica! I'm catching up my sista! Although I loved the greenish bluish color of the interior white gives you a canvas to design on multiple levels! I love color and the vibrance it brings...BUT, as I have become a more "seasoned" adult...my taste have mellowed and softened...I have lightened the walls in my domain. I have lots of color in terms of accents and I can switch out easily which is fun. I must say as usual I am looking forward to your visionary skill set! So gifted and detailed! I'm sure you'll "bring it" and I can't wait to put eyes on the completed project! GO GURL! 💥
Yes exactly!!! Lately I’ve been gravitating to a lighter palate, but still holding on to my love of black and brown. I want to try and create a moody vibe without having to have a dark wall. I’m hoping by a lot of the wood accents, vintage pieces, decor items and art that I can achieve this warm look and feel while at the same time feeling light. That is the goal. It’s gonna be a fun journey!! 💕
