- The Balandra river, which flows, through the valley, contains numerous pools of varying width and depth, the two most popular are know as the Balandra Basin.
The trek to the Basins will take about thirty minutes and starts at Alcindor Trace. The hike begins with a short walk across multiple small hills to the cleared land behind what seems to be private land.
My name is Alan Charles (The Trini Surfer) and i am a professional photographer/content creator.

I have heard about Balandra bay, but that waterfall is truly a hidden gem. I visited here bk in 2018 but we took a different trail, we were able to park on a private property for $40 ...we walked across the river ,had a mile uphill climb,yes,the underground was leafy, it was early morning,so it was slippery, I had a 6 year old with me and for his first hike ,he did well,our tourguide Christopher had to piggyback him out after the fun though, going down the ropes was a bit challenging for him...but he did great,and the pols early in the morning was amazing.

I've hiked plenty bush in Trinidad, I would definitely never go barefoot. Mapepire no make joke, way too far away from the hospital to get treatment in time for a bite.
