- These commercials aired on FOX on May 6th, 1995
1. Trix (With free color-changing water squirter!)
2. Promo for "Taz-Mania"
3. "Fox Action Theater" Commercial Bumper
4. "We'll Be Right Back" Commercial Bumper
5. Kool-Aid Island Twists
6. "Gargoyles" Action Figures (These figures look pretty cool. I watched this show mornings before school for awhile and really liked it, but my local Fox affiliate aired the episodes all out of order and it was nearly impossible to follow the plot other than "Xanatos is a dick" tvtropes.org/pm...)
7. Ritz Bits Sandwiches (Can't believe I forgot about this)
8. Promo for "Bobby's World"
9. "We'll Be Right Back" Commercial Bumpers
10. Promo for "Talkin' It Out" (It's too bad this wasn't recorded, I'm curious to see what the topics discussed were)
11. Promo for "The Tick"
12. Promo for "FOX Kids Countdown" (I think this was always something that I wanted to listen to but never did)
13. TV Spot for "Gordy" (It's kind of weird that this came out before "Babe"...maybe they knew that would be big and rushed this turd into production?)
14. Discovery Zone (I never went here but I totally remember this ad playing all the time. I DON'T THINK SO!)
15. Golden Grahams (On the surface this seems like a really weird commercial, but in the context of the mid 90's...normal)
16. "We'll Be Right Back" Commercial Bumpers
17. Kellogg's Rice Krispie Treats (I really liked these things when they first came out, I guess they're not bad...but there's nothing "homemade" about their taste)
18. McDonald's (I must say...the hamburger bed is pretty awesome)
19. Life Savers Wacky Fruit Gummi Savers (Classic. This is another ad done by Pixar...just before they did Toy Story)
20. Promo for "X-Men"
21. "Spider-Man" End Credits
22. Promo for "Spider-Man"
23. "Totally For Kids" (Partial. The person who recorded this apparently wasn't a huge fan of "The Tick"...they stopped recording here and started again when "X-Men" came on. Oh, and I'd snap a new picture if I were you)
24. Cinnamon Toast Crunch (With free Finger Spoons!)
25. Promo for "Mighty Max"
26. "Fox Action Theater" Commercial Bumper
27. "We'll Be Right Back" Commercial Bumper
28. Micro Machines Highways & Byways (I always liked these toys...it's a shame that Galoob got bought by Hasbro)
29. Pizza Hut (The similarity between Pizza Head and Mr. Bill from SNL is not coincidental...both were created by Walter Williams. Also the volume on the boombox goes to 12?!? Somebody call Nigel Tufnel!)
30. Cocoa Krispies (Why did the dinosaur have rope tied around him to begin with?)
31. "We'll Be Right Back" Commercial Bumpers
32. Promo for "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers"
33. Promo for "The Simpsons"
34. TV Spot for "Gordy"
35. School Is Cool PSA
36. Steroid Prevention PSA (With Joe Piscopo. I know that kids grow up to be adults, but it seems really weird to target children with this message)
37. Promo for "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine"
38. "We'll Be Right Back" Commercial Bumper
39. Promo for "Talkin' It Out"
40. "X-Men" End Credits
41. Promo for "X-Men"
I love all the detail you put in the description box. thanks for uploading these.
1995 was one of my favorite years! I remember all of these commercials like it was yesterday. This hit me right in the feels and my inner 10-year old at this time came out during this video haha.
Tornado1994 I loved 1994, as well. I believe my favorite year of the 90's was 1998, mainly because of all the amazing PlayStation and Nintendo 64 games that released. 1999 would probably be my second favorite because of the Sega Dreamcast.
Matthew J. Boone hey.... almost all the years in the '90s rocked!
specterkev This is true!
+Matthew J. Boone Me too!!! I was 4 years old in 1995 but I remember very well!
Thanks uploader, whatever your name is.
I've been subbed to you for years. Glad to see you're still working hard so the rest of us can have nostalgia.
Well said! I second that.
I third that :D
I come to watch these commercials from time to time because I just miss the 90s so much!!
Isn't it weird how when you were a kid, you wanted the commercials to hurry up and end so you could get back to the show but as an adult, you're actually looking up JUST the commercials?
and use adblock on the browser to skip commercials lol yet watching 15 minutes of ads rofl
Life is funny like that :-P
Amazing, isn't it? But this stuff was part of the sonic backdrop of growing up. So as unusual as it may seem to watch commercials for shows and products that no longer exist, it's a kind of...nostalgia, I suppose? Not much different than looking through a book of old photographs.
I hear you about stations playing episodes out of order. It makes no sense, but you're right on about Gargoyles.
The FOX Kids Countdown in New York was on some obscure AM station near the end of the dial in the 1000s.
Pixar did the Gummi Savers ad too? Wow.
Interesting point that Gordy predated Babe, but nobody would have heard of Gordy!
May 6th 1995 I was 11 this takes me back a long way lol it was awesome
God I remember all these. I must have been watching this day.
Ahhh DZ discovery zone, where I discovered a syringe for the first time. Found it in one of the tunnels in the big play area. When I showed it to my mom, she flipped out and immediately the police showed up. That was how the Wichita Kansas DZ discovery zone was shut down, and caused all health inspectors to keep the rest of them across the country under a very close microscope.
Holy crap, do I ever remember that Kool-Aid Island Twists commercial. It feels like I saw it last year, not 20 years ago.
it's insane how many of these I remember
1:35 "Adios, Xanatos!" lmfao xD
I swear that LifeSavers commercial choked me up. It's scary how time just flew by. I don't even feel 31, but here I am, being 31. Thank you for sharing your collection.
I've been saying "kiwi-lime!" In that island dialect my whole damn life and now finally remember that I've been subconsciously referencing this commercial.
Coming home to a fresh episode of mmpr was great
deca241 nothing was better than that
its so weird to watch these and little things stand out that I remember seeing as a kid.
I usually change the channel now when commercials come on but now I youtubed it to remind me of the ones I watched when I was a kid.
This is when commercials were actually commercials
I never get so excited about watching commercials as I am now...
aww it I forget how zany and fun the 90s commercials tended to be...I miss that a lot...its crzy how we go from that to just straight up boring stuff...true our tech stuff is btr but everything just seems so dull sometimes...now..
(6:39) That Gummy Savers commercials. Now I see Pixar’s early roots. They weren’t limited to just short films.
Discovery Zone, that takes me back. I went to so many birthday parties there in the 4th grade.
Lynn D. Yep! Diego location all day!
I watched gargoyles b4 school too!
Damn I miss the 90's!!
Thanks for uploading all of these. The Nineties were better times.
Jenny V. For sure.
These are from my hometown! I bet I was either watching this exact broadcast or playing super nintendo with my brother. Great volume!!!
Awww felt like a was 10 and laying on the carpet watching tv again with a bowl of Cookie Crisps and a Nintendo 64 in the tv cabinet under it with Perfect Dark in the consol and a lil shoe box with some mario titles like mario kart and mario 64
+Revlis Oakenhaim Your comment is a bit anachronistic. N64 wasn't released until late '96, and Perfect Dark wasn't released until May of 2000...five years after this aired!
The early to mid 90's had the Pizza Head show for Pizza hut, the late 80's had the 'claymated' NOID for Domino's Pizza. ;) The latter was much better though!
damn i remember these ads i feel old now
Simpson's Christmas Commercial in May?? crazy!
Nostalgia at its finest!!!
man i miss the 90's...20 years :(
2:56 "Where is the jerk who calls himself Dick?"
Diamondcreeper28 ((LOL) I am that dick!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was looking thru the comments to see if there was one about that. 😂
Where is that jerk that calls himself the TICK...the name of the cartoon.
Dude...u just made me cry. I used to live for fox kids.
I used to look forward to the Pizzahead commercials! :D
oh my god a discovery zone commercial thank you that place was my childhood
One of the locations in that Discovery Zone commercial was from my area...it's now a Goodwill :(
I miss the fruit shaped trix cereal pieces I thought they were more interesting to look at and reminded me of Runts candies.
PIZZA HEAD!!! Holy shit those were the best.
Fox kids ALL THE WAY.. even when i got cable later on..it still rocked..
Discovery Zone was the best, only cool kids had their birthday parties there. I swear that ritz bits commercial probably still airs, props for using "In the Hall of the Mountain King" for the cheese one. I was never allowed to eat sugar cereals as a kid (mom only let me have cheerios), I remember wanting those cereal box prizes so bad. My friends always had those spoons that would change color with temperature. Not gonna lie, as an adult I still want one of those spoons, just for shits and giggles.
Trix were the best when they were fruit shapes
I believe this announcement at 13:11 was regarding the Oklahoma City bombing.
Don't you think it's very bizarre a Simpsons christmas episode (like Simpsons Roasting on a Open Fire) being aired on May?
Daniel Cabral Not really. It's just another episode of the show (actually, its the very first episode). If you're airing a series five days a week in syndication you're bound to run into some sort of holiday themed episode every few weeks.
Edit: Also in 1995 The Simpsons was early into it's syndication run, which began the previous September. They wouldn't have had a whole lot of episodes to pick and choose from.
mid to late 80's commercials are still top dog, but EARLY 90's had some pretty amazing stuff as well. Commercials gradually went down the tubes after the mid 90's, and were t-e-r-r-I-b-l-e by the late 90's. These days? They're GOD AWFUL unimaginative, boring, dreary, lifeless, unfun boring pieces of uncreative trash for the masses. :P
***** I think these still have that same creative spark that ads from the 80's did, although this era of over the top 'tudeness with baseball hats to the side is pretty hilarious in retrospect.
+Donatello97
I also prefer early 90s TV. but I don't think late 90s commercials were that bad,
didn't you like the Budweiser frogs? or the M&M mascots commercials?
damn this takes me back!!!!
Finger spoons are a great idea
Ait, I'm gonna download Pokemon and DBZ, these commercials, make a playlist, make someone hide my phone and RELIVE THE 90's.
Thank you for this :)
I wish tv was as fun for my kids as it was for me. kids were targeted during the day hardly any boring commericals, now you watch a kids show and you might see 3 toy commercials and the rest are insurance and a bunch of other boring crap.
0:46 he's that one actor in 8 mile and white boyz lol...
I still have the Cinnamon Toast Crunch finger spoon
IIII WAAAAANT ONNNNNEEE!!!!! @5:56 that's how I feel seeing footage of an earthquake.
oh shit! the remembers!!
Those mcdonalds commercials were just amazing back in the late 80's and early 90s, they made mcdonalds seem like such a magical fun place to go to. Props to the amount of effort and creativity that went into making them. these days, mcdonalds commercials are garbage. No fun characters, no mcdonalds land, no zany music, no talking mgnuggets.....just plain anti-fun boring uninspired depressing adds that desperately want to be healthy
***** The fact that they are still using the slogan "I'm Lovin' It" after 10+ years is mind boggling to me. I keep reading articles about how their business is slowly going down the tubes.
80sCommercialVault
oh god. I remember the debut of "I'm loving it" with Justin timberlake taking a bite out of a big mac. pukes* even if Mcdonalds brang back the talking nuggets, hamburgler, mcdonalds land(ect ect) the overly sensitive generation we have today would be complaining, saying those characters and what have you are a gate way of bad eating.lol
80sCommercialVault Even Pharrell and Justin Timberlake probably think that McDonald's is lame for STILL using "I'm Lovin' it"
MsFarzee Another reason why I really hate Justin Timberlake these days, he's really an attention whore!
80sCommercialVault It's been 12 years since that campaign debuted and it still annoys the hell out of me with the "BA BA BA DA DA" tune in my head! I wish McDonald's retired it!
@9:14.... those spoons sucked
80scommercialvault: Kids from age 12 to 17 (especially in the mid 90s) started to use steroids rapidly!!!!
According to this article it does not seem to have been a huge problem with teens until the late 90's/early 2000's when it became public knowledge that baseball players like Mark McGuire/Barry Bonds were using them.
cnsnews.com/news/article/rise-and-fall-teen-steroid-use-tied-mcgwire-bonds
I miss discovery zone. Why couldn't they just keep the damn places clean!?
Thank You Rice Krispies Treats, for Traumatizing Millions and Scarring Them for Life Just to Advertise Your Product. (Thumbs Up!)
guuuyyss they need to bring back DZ discovery zone!!!
1995? That's the last year you'll cover, right?
Vebinz No, I've posted stuff from 1996
"Gargoyles" was a good show..for its first few seasons, then when it went to ABC it started getting lame
TTrigg I read up on it and I guess Disney completely retooled the show for the third season on ABC, changed most of the creative team and retitled it "The Goliath Chronicles"...most people consider this season to be non-canon with the rest of the show.
bobbys world = howie mandel thats what I think of when I see him on tv
this is when the cartoons were actually good now they just suck
Remember when they were traditionally animated, like... CARTOONS? Now it's only stiff CGI and maybe a bit of Flash...
😭😭😭
man discovery zone was the sh*t....until I went and it wasnt half as cool as the commercials.
Judging by the ad, it only looks like the play area of a fastfood restaurant.
+Gaucelm de Villaret They were actually huge (at least the ones in Massachusetts were). But a lot of them got shut down for poor sanitation. I don't think any remain today.
squidward645 Ball pools... ah, the urban legends about them...
DZ discovery zone...where the ball pit was used as a toilet.
Cartoons suck now and I'm a kid and watched all Simpsons episodes
