I just got the shipping notification for my A6X2 I ordered on Boxing Day. Your videos, along with the colabs you’ve done with Voja and Brandon, have been infinitely beneficial in helping me make a decision. Thanks for putting these together. I’m really impressed with Ratta’s values and priorities as a company, and I’m excited for the future of Supernote (and eInk in general).
My hope is that the pogo pins on the back can be used for some sort of external frontlight mechanism engineered by Ratta themselves. Perhaps something which surrounds the device and shines a light toward the screen from all sides for even illumination without making any of the typical sacrifices associated with frontlights?
YES! That is a brilliant observation and hope. You've got me hoping for the same now too. However, I can't help think that it might draw pawer from the battery which would limit the battery, lessening reading time. But it is a constant game of give and take, isn't it? I am still hoping for that, though.
I had the A5 supernote a couple of years ago as a companion to my reMarkable. I ended up returning it but I miss that smooth writing feel and want it again. 🥴 Now that they have this new screen, I'm hesitant. That smooth writing experience was the best! 😩 I wish I could test it out in person before buying but we know that's impossible! 😂 For now I'll just keep watching videos about.
The only thing that made me skew towards buying a remarkable 2 was the keyboard functionality. I like being able to transition from note-taking to keyboard for longer writing. I really want to get a SuperNote device because I like the company and everything they stand for, but I am having issues pulling the trigger because of the latency. I'm wondering, does the A6X2 device even have the possibility of switching to a higher refresh rate? It would mean that it would be able to at least fix this issue in the future.
Thanks for the review Kit. I continue to be torn between the Supernote and Remarkable. I’ve tried both (over a year ago) and saw pros and cons in both, ultimately selling them. If I said I need something for work, to capture meeting notes that I can easily share what would you suggest?
Great video! Definitely help me decidesd. Also, by any chance that lamp you had in the background, what kind of model is it? I would love to get one for myself as I prepare for my supernote to get here!
Kit, great video. I always enjoy it when you go through the devices live. A couple of things that may help. First, there is no way to zoom or control the contrast currently within a note, that is a PDF or other document function. I do hope Ratta fixes it because it limits the use of the PDF hyperlinked planners as templates. Second, I think you will find the PDF annotations are more robust than you could see in this short look. you can add notes directly to the PDF as a comment, which converts into typed text. The annotation tool now has a pen instead of just the brackets. Hopefully, Ratta will link the digest and the comments somehow in the future. Again, great job.
Thanks so much for this! I'm looking forward to really getting to know all the functionality as I use the device for work in the coming weeks and months! By the way, I'm always interested in collaborating with others in the space. Any chance you'd be keen to jump on a live stream at some point? Give me a shout at Kit (at) evaluateeverything dot co dot uk if you'd like to carry on the conversation! 🙂
Yeah, amazing! Isn't it brilliant when you get such lovely feedback from people in the audience. The fact that people are recommending you to other people, i.e. the comments in the chat, is a great sign. Your content is valuable to people, so just keep going and trust that TH-cam will recommend your videos to similar people! 🙂
Thanks -your reviews are excellent. I am an accountant looking for a device to make notes and save them in client folders. Currently, I use Moleskin note with a Roller ball pen- can this device have a similar feel when I write my short notes -Many Thanks
New to the e ink idea and was wondering what you'd recommend for someone who needs one for work notes and would want something with maybe playstore as well as able to move files from one device to another. I want something for notes, ideas, and doodles. What'd you recommend? Budget around $500
It doesn't have clickable boxes, but the way to do todo lists, is to leave a star mark. These are easily found in the ToC and then when you've done the task, simple delete the star mark and you are away. :-0
What sort of books to you like or wish to read? History? Biographies? Fiction/Novels? Classics? SciFi? Philosophical/Theological? Technical? Health/Medical?...
Thanks, that's right up my street. I've read quite a bit about Trafalgar, but it's hard to get enough! There will certainly be some history books in the mix this year!
In my experience, the addition of a front light would only enhance devices such as the Remarkable 2 and the SuperNote.Even writing with paper and pen or pencil takes on a different feel depending on the paper used and the writing implement used. Generally, writing in all lighting conditions should be a feature of all digital writers. My guess is that RM and Supernote teams are constrained by cost of manufacturing rather than anything else.

I was just debating on this device and here you are live. I’ve watched your reviews on the air 3c great content
Awesome! Let me know what you go with and how you get along! :-)

I'm very tempted to get one of the new Feelwrite 2 screens to apply to my A5X based on your description of the feel here.

Looking forward to getting mine!

Happy new year!!!🎉
Happy new year to you also. :-)
@KitBetts-Masters, I just got to the part in the video where you mentioned my channel. Kind of a new thing for me and appreciate the support.

How is the speed of the user interface eg. navigating heavy pdfs and changing documents/notes compared to the A5X which is quite slow?
I want to be edit my novel on it, not just write it on it. Is that possible?
Thanks -your reviews are excellent. I am an accountant looking for a device to make notes and save them in client folders. Currently, I use Moleskin note with a Roller ball pen- can this device have a similar feel when I write my short notes -Many Thanks
Is there a calculator in the A6X2?
Not that I'm aware off

Note air 3c, or just note air 3 (it’s not 300 ppi I think). There’s a mini of this too. Battery life is not that good though
Yeah, I think you sound like a Boox user. The Note Air 3C would be right on the money for you too!
Can you write a todo, by that I mean draw a square box (checkbox) and a note? Will it draw the checkbox? Will it be clickable?
It doesn't have clickable boxes, but the way to do todo lists, is to leave a star mark. These are easily found in the ToC and then when you've done the task, simple delete the star mark and you are away. :-0
Suggested book for 2024. “All The Light we Cannot See”
Thanks bud, I'll add it to my list! :-)
What sort of books to you like or wish to read? History? Biographies? Fiction/Novels? Classics? SciFi? Philosophical/Theological? Technical? Health/Medical?...
If you've not read it,
Nelson's Trafalgar : the battle that changed the world.
Thanks, that's right up my street. I've read quite a bit about Trafalgar, but it's hard to get enough! There will certainly be some history books in the mix this year!
