      When estimating drywall, we dont take off for doorway top sheets or windows. Estimate like your hanging across tops of doors and scrap the cutout. It's faster to use the router for this which does save the whole piece but when hanging a house there are better pieces to use than the door cutouts

    The drywall repairs can be done without the clips. Just cut out the square on the new drywall one one side, then brezk the edges and tear off the excess drywall around the square leaving flaps, then just put the square into the whole and use plaster to stick it to the surrounding drywall.

    The tile at the end was mixed too thin the rake was sagging everywhere. They got the "hack" job alright. We can do it right or right now, which one you want?

  • @robertaylor9218
    @robertaylor9218 2 ปีที่แล้ว +13

    First hack: they’re called brick lines, usually wooden block cut wit a groove (for the string) and a protrusion (to pressure-latch the outside of the brick). They are literally as common as trowels and brick hammers.
    That being said the hand made metal ones look kinda cool.

    @ 3:15 use wood paint stirring sticks and 10sec drying glue. Glue 4" of paint stick inside wall, hold each for 10sec, then add more glue to exposed paint sticks then press in drywall patch board....boom

    If that using magnet to fish line down a wall works that'd be one of the most useful tricks I have ever seen

    • @leverloos
      @leverloos 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It doesnt though. Because any drywall would have insulation packed in it.

    • @chrismangum2219

      @@leverloos
      Interior walls don’t always have insulation, and if the magnet is strong enough the slug would slip between the wall and insulation.

    1:45 is slower and wastes drywall. Handsaw run up the studs and a back cut with a knife across the top and off it comes in one piece.
