    Hey Matt, I think we got the best lease purchase program out right now, they hired sooo many driver's, every week I get back home in Detroit and park at the flying J, new faces almost every week now. Lol. Call Amy and see if she has some more trucks that can be paid off in 1 year, yea it's gonna be a 15-18 Freightliner but hey you won't have to pay for anything to be fixed on it till it's paid off. You can do that till your Kenworth finish getting rebuilt.

      I’m going to do a video but I think I’m just gonna keep Bellamy and have a rebuil. She’ll only be in the shop two weeks, during duck season at that🙃

    The thing with Michigan is they require that you have $1 million in liability for bobtail insurance, and if you dont have 3 years of driving, CRST wont cover it. Cost me an additional $90 a month.

    Just found your channel about a week ago and have been binge watching ever since. Love what you do. But could you give a quick explanation of how you break up your net pay, like how much goes to taxes, back to the truck/ maintenance, and to your personal account? Or do you just have it all in one place and use as needed? Also could you check around Bowling Green Ky on the load boards for us south central ky guys lol i use to heavy haul coils as a company driver and bowling green was a weekly go home back then

      I get a Lot of request for a video on this but I usually don’t do them because there’s so many variables, but I think I’ll do a video on what I do but these questions are best answered through you and your CPA and how you have your business set up , LLC S-Corp etc…..

      @sturgelltruckingllc4074 I understand that completely. But I think me and alot of others would like to see anything if it's in a ballpark idea. I've been driving for about 10 years now and all the o/o I've known have either failed and got out or I know personally aren't good with money so I don't really want advice from them lol.

    Definitely talk to your credit union. I got 6% from mine with a business plan and all. No previous purchase not even one month in business. Good luck 👍

    Also, the lease option wouldn’t be too bad for you. It’d give you time to get your truck sold and find a new one without any down time. It honestly not that bad. The truck I got is a 2021 Cascadia with 396K miles. Lease term is about 3 1/2 years with $5,000 balloon. In total that’s cheaper than what you’d get financing one with the interest rates dealers want. My only real concern is paying $0.15 a mile for maintenance and not knowing the quality of maintenance CRST has. This truck clearly hasn’t seen a truck wash in its entire life and if CRST Expedited doesn’t let their company drivers use a truck wash every once in awhile then I can only imagine the excuses I’ll be hearing when I call over maintenance problems.

    Hey sir... love you're content... if ypur looking at a used truck... take a look at Lone Mountain. They have some preety decent deal now. They have some 2020 peterbilt coming in and its like 5k down and 1600 per month... no ballon at the end.

      @sturgelltruckingllc4074  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes my thoughts on Loan Mountain will be in the video, they actually have a good rates, but there’s some catches to the whole Lease to Own through them, also the only trucks they have currently have Paccar MX 13 motors and I don’t want one of those…

    If you choose to lease the first and second week you have no truck payment. You will have insurance deducted before you even get your truck. Every person I started with was in the hole to CRST before their first week in the truck started.

      Cost a little money upfront to get going that’s part of becoming an owner operator, and why I’m continually advocating to have some money in the bank for reserves at all times….

    I was looking at contracting with CRST on the dry van side they’re charging 30% and they’re taking 3% of the fuel surcharge. They’re also charging 30% on all the accessorial charges. Is that different on the flatbed side? Thanks

    • @sturgelltruckingllc4074
      @sturgelltruckingllc4074  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes flatbed is a completely different side of the company and pays much better, you’ll always make more pulling a skateboard because there’s much more work involved and you need a special set of skills to get the job done

    • @JaysLife78
      @JaysLife78 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Flatbed we get 100% of the fsc. Also 100% of tarp pay and such. They take 25% and our loads pay more.

    Why these load do not have weight? Also what is line haul. Thank you

    • @sturgelltruckingllc4074
      @sturgelltruckingllc4074  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They do you have to open the load to see the details…. line haul is the mileage rate they charge the customer. The rest is the national fuel surcharge, and any other extra charges like tarp, extra stop etc…

    I shot myself in the foot twice. Grabbed a load from NC to Saint Louis thinking it’s get me out in the Midwest region. Well no, nothing out of Saint Louis that isn’t Texas or Colorado. Grabbed a load to South Dakota instead. Oof. I gotta figure out how to get out of NC. Guess my next move is to deadhead all the way to Nebraska to get to Chicago for the weekend. Then I can try again next week.

    • @sturgelltruckingllc4074
      @sturgelltruckingllc4074  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No, we have an agent in South Dakota call them. I think it’s Oleander. They should be able to get you something. That’s surprising about St. Louis but there are a lot of us that they consider “local guys” and we generally get all the Chicago stuff. I’m headed that way for Wednesday morning. They called me today to see if I was going to be up there tomorrow but that’s not gonna happen, took 6 1/2 hours to get loaded in Birmingham today🤬
