Thank you for watching our video! While we made every effort to maintain consistency across all clips, please be aware that there will be variations, and different players will sound different on various saxophones. We also intended to include the Rampone & Cazzani R1 Jazz alto, but unfortunately, it is not currently in stock. Pop us an email or call us if you'd like any further information on any of our saxophones! 🎷✌🏻
Well played, George! 🎶🎧🤔 Thank you, team. I'll listen to the soprano sax one as well,of course. I very much want the bari sax one, please. At your convenience, I can wait.
I would have to say that the Selmer probably offers a wider range of nuance. The others sound wonderful and have each their own timbre which may or may not fit the person playing that particular horn. The Selmer I think gives the player the possibility of choice. I did not think this about the Supreme tenor. Just my observation-the whole thing is subjective.
I liked the Supreme and Keilwerth. Which Supreme was that, gold plated? but I was a bit surprised George demonstrated the Yanagisawa AWO20 but not the more affordable and I guess more popular, AWO1.
May I ask you, which one you like the most to play ? Which one you felt was easier and more fluent ? Because all of them sound great, but maybe you struggle to play some and maybe you felt that pleasure of playing some of those sax… which one was it ??? Thx
The Keilwerth Shadow probably won overall with nice color throughout and the beautiful fat bottom end! The Yamaha Custom Z II has a great overall straight color from top to bottom and this makes it quite popular. Dare I say that the Custom ZII is the best modern Mark VI? Ok I’m sorry for saying that but I said it! Yanagisawa sounded nice! And was surprised by the clear beautiful resonating sound from the Cannonball. Personally I own an amazing 1964 long bow Mark VI, two Custom Z II’s black and one gold, and an Antigua Pro One! Great variety for myself! Enjoyed the demonstration and comparisons! Thank You!
I own a custom Z and i find it nothing like anything selmer produces tbh. The stack build is completely different for starters. There is this idea going around that most horns are trying to achieve what the mark 6s did in their hey day. I think even intermediate horns are built to play just as well in the right hands and a pro mouthpiece.
@@TheRealG2024 If Selmer never stopped making the Mark VI it would today be called the Selmer Mark VI Supreme! I believe this would be a fair statement even though the Supreme’s bore etc etc is totally different from the early VI’s per your point! And for those who would agree with this opinion could easily say that the Custom Z II is a better horn. It’s all opinion but the Custom Z sounds overall better than the Selmer Supreme even though the Supreme is a very fine horn! Now if this explanation breakdown doesn’t satisfy you then please remember………I did say that I was sorry for saying so! LOL
Supreme and 82z are on the expensive side… But I like the sound of Signature Raw-xs , what about you ? Between Atlantic London and Signature RawXS which one would you pick ?
@@fodemhousegaming I would pick the Trevor James Signature Raw XS alto! I also believe you can save even more money on the Signature series if you get it in gold lacquer vs raw! I happened to save a good bit when I did this on the TJ Signature Tenor. The sound difference is virtually the same in my opinion! These horns are solid and you should be very happy!

Always great to see comparison videos! Especially for someone whos in the market for a sax.
To be honest, I was so mesmerized by George's playing and this song I wasn't paying attention to the make and model. That was great!
That Eastman sounds louder and clearer to me .!! But Selmer was more smooth

We'll get onto Soprano next!
aww it was unfortunate the R1 jazz couldn't be added, i was also hoping that the solista will also be compared with. Great playing as always though!
The Custom Z will always be my dream horn

I am impressed by the Supreme ... I was not convinced by the Tenor, but the Alto seems to be in another league ...
Could i ask what mic are you using the clarity is superb
That looks like some kind of Neumann u87 to me , could be wrong though .
Hi Paul, it's a Mojave MA-200. We usually use an Apollo Twin X interface but on this occasion used our backup Focusrite Clarett+
@@SAXV2 thanks for getting back
82Z sounded the best to me here.
You forgot Antiqua pro one alto , it’s great horn too
The only ones that sounded different from the others was the Supreme, 82ZII, and the SX90R. Everything else was to some extent the same.
I kinda liked the signature custom also… But now I wonder if the custom RAW is better than RAW-XS ?

I believe the Selmer alto played here has the Brushed Gold finish.

Yanagisawa, Selmer and Eastman got the sound right...
When will you be comparing Pro Soprano Sax brands too. Its long over due. It's always Alto and Tenor on display
Yanagisawa & Shadow. Others were pretty mid for professional horns.
No Rampone Cazzani R1?😢
It’s the Indian not the arrow !
Top sopranos?
