@@eramars5699 it uses the same case as the Milgauss, you should have tried to get one a few months ago before all the idiots started jumping on them because of the new model. Just keep going into your local AD and chatting about watches and try on different models, if they see you’re genuine and have a passion for watches then you’ve got a much better chance of them offering you something. You don’t need a fake linked in account and crap, just be genuine and show you’re not after making a quick buck.

This is a scam on the AD’s part and Rolex. They are creating scarcity to artificially keep the price on the resale market high.
No they “create scarcity,” to keep the MSRP high, unless you feel that the highly inflated secondary market makes the AD route a bargain. I would agree there.

Got offered an explorer 1 36mm two days after registering my interest without a spend history. Multiple people didn't pick up this watch. Miracles happen, btw this was last week in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Won’t lie - first time seeing your channel, and I was a bit disappointed to hear “I’m a watch dealer, and I’m going to be listing it for sale” at the end. Kind of a bummer. A lot of people are sitting on wait lists to buy a DJ41 for a graduation, a wedding, a big birthday (that’s me!), a promotion, etc. And here you are - a flipper - lying to an AD to get your hands on a watch you’re going to flip for a profit to someone who truly wants it to wear and be proud to own. Let the people who want to wear them buy them.

@@glenncaukill1320 yes, DJ‘s aren’t anything special. If you ask for a black, silver or blue dial like in the video, they do have them around for purchase. Worst case you play the same game of waiting a few hours or a day. Now try this with a sports Rolex.

There's only one Rolex AD in Leeds and they didn't ever call me back.
I'm local, want more than one watch (over time), multiple big anniversaries coming up, and was open to being suggested pieces.
I have my own company and earn as much as a doctor. They literally never called back after me calling and emailing them!

I used to really like watching the content. But, honestly all I can say is I'm disappointed. There are loads of people playing the game right to get a rolex and it's filthy flippers that are ruining it for everyone. I was lucky enough last year to get the call, but there's loads of people that aren't. People should stop buying from flippers and starve them out of the market, so they have to reduce their prices or stop re selling altogether!!

I get that Phil is in the wrong here but are we gonna gloss over the fact that this is a thing that AD's do. If people need to sell some kind of story of success to get an AD to sell them a basic Datejust then the real problem is the AD. As they say "Don't hate the player hate the game".
The reason they want rich people is so that their clients will actually keep the watch. People flipping it (like Phil) is exactly why ADs make it difficult.

That was hilarious, I went to 4 AD in 2 cities and had a great conversation with them. There has been a significant shift in last few weeks of AD attitude, they are very nice and talk for a longer time discussing the issues. I am now out of the Rolex brand anyway and moving on to Patek

My AD gouged the shit out of my deployant clasp for my Omega speedster and it took another month for one to come in. I asked nicely on pick up of my replacement to see a Oyster-perpetual 41. Long story short she apologized about what happened and promised to call when the next shipment comes in 2 weeks. Fingers crossed I am not going to flip I want my no date black dial OP41.

I asked for the Pepsi next year cos am short on funds this year. They told me the new air king, skydweller two tone Wimbledon green oyster perpetual bluesey etc.... anytime I want them. Those watches don't appeal to me or are too expensive to me at the moment. I do have a spend history with them for a long time. They gave me excellent deals on Tudor longines etc. They know I don't flip and never will. That's why I don't buy everything and anything just so I can make a few dollars flipping. I respect them and the relationship and vice versa. I can also understand why someone like you would never be offered "the hot pieces" because of your assumptive offensive attitude. So I'll enjoy my watches at retail while you can mope about it on TH-cam.

If someone is on a waitlist for a stainless steel watch probably is a very poor communicator. Rolex makes a million watches a year. So in 5 years that's 5 million watches. These watches are not rare. They are mass produced.

What a brilliant video! Shows how pretentious the Swiss watch market is. No watch is worth over a couple of hundred quid anyway especially Rolex who manufacture thousands of units a year. And the folk that waste money on them are just daft.
If you genuinely like watches or just interested in the speculative end of the watch market and can afford to play the Rolex game you will see that there is not much wasting of money going on here if you know what you’re doing.
The Rolex market is in a bit of a bubble but it’s far from bursting and is probably the most successful watch market in the world. Two scenarios might help you understand:
1.
If you’re a patient speculator and were to get one new from an AD at retail price you are almost certain to make
money if you flip it even after you’ve worn and enjoyed it for some years.
2.
If you’re a patient enthusiast and were to get one new, a watch of this quality could be a family heirloom passed down through the generations for over 100 years.
Try doing the same with an average quality mechanical watch and you will almost certainly lose or waste money speculating in relative terms or it will probably die before you even pass it on to the 2nd generation .
A million a year. They are like BMWs or Mercedes, but people think they're investing in Ferarris lol
They try avoiding people who are resellers but good on you proving you can pick one up. I'm sure they were not happy with this video 😂

My AD always does. 5 watches and 3 this year. It’s yours and you have the right to ask for it. It keeps your bezel neat and protected so why shouldn’t you get it? They might as well not give you the case?
Rolex is a sick shopping experience. They copied the Ferrari way of doing bussines. You can not buy any Ferrari if you are a first time buyer and when you're not 'approved'. or recommend. Sick. So i'll buy Omega, Tudor, Grand Seiko, Seiko, Breitling, Longines Bell & Ross etc instead. At least I don't feel played there. For now.
Picked up a DJ 2 tone, champagne at AD in San Fran Yesterday. Was in the in store cabinet and actually for sale. And was dressed in shorts and a tee shirt, no prior history with Rolex.

Datejusts are relatively reliable to get, certainly 41mm units, people consider there larger case to be rather off-putting in comparison to the 36mm. So I wouldn't expect anyone to wait longer than a couple of months, don't buy into the bull, rolex simply is a popular brand not a particular brand remember that

The last two times I walked into Mayors I’ve gotten offered a total of 6 DJs. 2 in 1 and 4 at the 2nd.
Before I wouldn’t get offered any. But I have a two tone DJ41 on jubilee with fluted bezel and I feel as if maybe that’s why they’ve offered me watches!

FFS , I went to the Rolex AD in Vancouver BC, dropped my Gold Amex and walked out the door in 30 minutes with my NIB Datejust 41 Oyster, 41mm in Oystersteel and yellow gold for 16K CAD.
