Unknowingly I took the front pass seat out ... and turned the ignition on. Gave me this same code. Fortunately I have a better scanner at work. I could go into the body control module and reset codes in the restraint system. I have a 2012 JCW hardtop
This is the exact information in looking for but your seats have a dofferent connector than mine do. Any chance you chould show me how this is done for the 2013 model? Its one big yellow connector instead of two small ones
You should always disconnect the negative first, that way it wont spark when you reconnect or bridge a tool to ground and you also wont spike the sensitive electrics

Thanks guys, worked out well when changing seat. The Brandgarage wanted 1700 Euro to solve this and recomended me to scrap the car (Cooper 2001 in perfect condtion)... :-(

Hi there, do you know what to do with the heated seat/ weight sensor? Any bypass kit online will only come with the bypass connectors for the seat belt pre tensioner, and the airbag. Thanks

Yes adding the resistor - then you need to clear the stored fault

Hi I have just tried this with the airbag seat and the and the airbag light will not go off have you got to do the tensioner as well

I would retrofit seats with airbags and tensioner if my MINI would not have them - I really don't get why people would take that out.
