yNamaste mam l have a query. Mam how can steel be prone to rusting ? This l am asking because we have learnt in our previous chapters that steel is an alloy of iron , chromium , nickel and also we have learnt that alloying prevents rusting . Hope my doubt has reached you and will be cleared soon. Thank you
Hello! Thank you for your comment and question. Steel is an alloy of iron, chromium, and nickel, but it can still develop rust. Rust is an oxidation process that occurs when iron or its alloys like steel come into contact with oxygen and moisture. Because steel is an alloy of iron, it is still susceptible to rusting. I hope this answers your question. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thank you!
Mam please tell me that when metal from impure metal road (Anode) dissloves in the electrolyte. At that will ions to be made ? And then the ions formed , diposit on the cathode... 5:46:00
Thank you for your comment! In the video, we explain that the anode (the impure metal rod) will dissolve and release metal ions into the electrolyte solution. These metal ions will then deposit onto the cathode, forming a pure metal. We hope this helps!
Positively charged particles or protons are bound in the nucleus of the atom while the negatively charged particle or the electron lies on the outermost shell of the atom and is free to move out of or inside an atom depending on the stability required by the atom. This is another difference but the main one is the charge present on them. (You're welcome)
