Water does indeed play a role in the electrolysis of ionic compounds - it helps to break down the compound into its individual ions so that they can be drawn towards the electrodes and undergo a chemical reaction. However, the electrolysis process itself is what causes the

    yNamaste mam
    l have a query.
    Mam how can steel be prone to rusting ? This l am asking because we have learnt in our previous chapters that steel is an alloy of iron , chromium , nickel and also we have learnt that alloying prevents rusting .
    Hope my doubt has reached you and will be cleared soon.
    Thank you

    • @MagnetBrainsEducation
      @MagnetBrainsEducation  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hello! Thank you for your comment and question. Steel is an alloy of iron, chromium, and nickel, but it can still develop rust. Rust is an oxidation process that occurs when iron or its alloys like steel come into contact with oxygen and moisture. Because steel is an alloy of iron, it is still susceptible to rusting. I hope this answers your question. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thank you!

    Mam , in the electroplating setup ; will the cathode also produce its ions ...if it is a metal ??

  • @ZiyeshWilliam1389

    Mam please tell me that when metal from impure metal road (Anode) dissloves in the electrolyte. At that will ions to be made ? And then the ions formed , diposit on the cathode...

      Thank you for your comment! In the video, we explain that the anode (the impure metal rod) will dissolve and release metal ions into the electrolyte solution. These metal ions will then deposit onto the cathode, forming a pure metal. We hope this helps!

    I have a doubt.....What is the difference between positive charged particles and negative charged particles ???
    Please answer

    • @nishkachoudhary6891
      @nishkachoudhary6891 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Positively charged particles or protons are bound in the nucleus of the atom while the negatively charged particle or the electron lies on the outermost shell of the atom and is free to move out of or inside an atom depending on the stability required by the atom. This is another difference but the main one is the charge present on them.

    Mam how can we know weather a solution contain ions or not ?

    • @davmathsclasses9132
      @davmathsclasses9132 ปีที่แล้ว

      We can make an arrangement for the flow of electric current, if the solution conducts electricity then it contains ions and If the solution do not conducts electricity so it means ions is not present in that particular solution.

    Previously you have said that if we want to electroplate iron key with copper then we have to taken the solution of copper as electrolyte i.e copper sulphate solution. But when we want to electroplate iron taps with Chormiun which electrolyte, we have to taken then ?

    • @MagnetBrainsEducation
      @MagnetBrainsEducation  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there! Thanks for your comment and question. For electroplating iron taps with chromium, you will need to use a chromic acid solution as the electrolyte. Let us know if you have any other questions!

    Mam ,I have a query.
    If we electroplate any metal like copper that can could spoilt the vegetables stored in it with another metal like tin. Aftet this, would food also spoilt?

    • @MagnetBrainsEducation
      @MagnetBrainsEducation  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks for your question! Electroplating two different metals together can cause the metals to react and corrode, which can affect the food stored in it. We suggest that you do not use electroplated metals to store food as it may not be safe for consumption.
