    Amazing drill, but the death at the end of the video made me crack up lol

    I find it amazing that it is moveable and efficient.

    i made a flying rig i affectionately named "Barge" whose biggest problem was getting landed level, i definitely prefer your version. one downside to these types of structures is that if you don't build a platform you'd be facing the same issue i did unless you're drilling into ice on earthlike or get lucky with flat spots on non-atmospheric planets that often have those ideal plains areas
    love the drill cam too. one of the things i never got around to doing on my ship was automating it enough so that i could start it manually after positioning it then just hit a button to initiate the pistons to retract before it flew itself home to drop off its payload. these designs can be a lot of fun to play around with. thanks for sharing yours

      I used landing gears on pistons on each corner to manually level my drill rig. not the best method but still usefull^^

    Bro I've been playing space engineers for a while, I never thought to fold my drills. I will be trying this

    Now with custom turret, we can make mining shaft and mine underground using turret

    Sup man, just wanna say u got into my recommendation, nice machine btw. For some reason I never thought of just having a line of drills rotate instead of filling a circular area with drills

      If you use a timer block and hinge with a 5 drills you can strip mine way more than a 5 drill rotor set up

    add two more arms then add a speaker that plays erika

    pretty cool. i made something similar that has a side facing part on the drill that expands out about half as far as it digs down making those flat ore veins easy to mine out, its too bad copy pasting it in makes the whole thing explode i just pushed the number of pistons rotors a bit too far.

    It's can go little bit deeper if you make the suspension go down

      It was a while age i made this but if you follow it from 1:08, you can see ll the pistons extended except the 2 who start extended and retract!

      A good view of the assembly can be seen at 1:42 which you can just reverse engineer if you want to use the design, jst play it back at a slower speed!

      Yeah, a Piston next to another will summon the mighty Clang.

    Put a few gyro blocks on the drills to reduce the shaking

    • @gamerelite3989
      @gamerelite3989 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      you could add a few directionnal thrusters on the sides as well for stsbility i think unless the mechanics have changed and the gyros are better

    • @Bemad82
      @Bemad82 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@gamerelite3989 my experience is that thrusters crash the whole thing. They try to cancel out the movement and that results in Clang resonance.

    • @gamerelite3989
      @gamerelite3989 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Bemad82 ah there ya go learn somethin new everyday i dont really make big wobly structures i always go for the solid ( well as most as can be ) builds so im not too familliar with countering the almighty one XD

    • @Bemad82
      @Bemad82 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gamerelite3989 yeah but try it anyway. Maybe it works magically. And if not you've learned to summon Clang. 😉
      Ah BTW. Thy gyro thing will somewhat work but I experienced a to small effect for the weight of gyros. But my Drilling rigs are a 'little' bigger. So it might be OK with a smaller version.
