Nikon is a better investment. Free software updates, RED's mother company so we may see more and more of RED on Nikon, and Nikon is known to improve their cameras overtime via software update. The Z9 was shitty when it came out, 4 years later, people are raving about it because of the additional features Nikon added. It didn't even have NRAW when it launched.
@@jpdemora Sony is a great go to for video but with Nikon’s purchase of RED I would definitely not count them out. Currently the Z8 provides an amazing image but you have to be aware that N-RAW doesn’t have as much support for it as things like S-LOG3. It really comes down to features and what you’re looking for in a camera in all honesty
In video terms in wich system would you invest the Sony a7s iii or the Z8? Filmed a lot with the Sony but use a Z6 for Photo and wanna double down on a system now? :)
@@LimitEdit both systems are fantastic and I use Nikon almost exclusively for my photo work and Sony for my videos. But it really comes down to what system you think fits your style. The Z8 is perfect because I’m a hybrid shooter and it’s a hybrid camera that allows you to switch on the fly. But the Sony has a great image and better low light capabilities but I don’t use the A7S III at all for photography
Really liked the way you presented the LUTS and the differences between the 2 cameras. Very cool
@@bamboojled8919 thank you! I wanted to try to showcase the different styles
When you put the red conversion lut to a NLog footage which gamut of rec709 do you get? gamma 2.2, gamma 2.4,....others....
Thank you for the comparison. How would you compare the video image of the Sony VS the Nikon ? I'm torn between these two cameras
