It’s awesome to see someone experience the game and truly appreciate how well the music reflects what’s going on around you. I think my personal favorite track was Ludwig. The decrepit monstrous first phase that turns to a grand dance of death gets me every time. I recorded my first kill and the part with the horns matched my dodges and his swings perfectly. True art
She was abandoned by other great ones, and left in yarnham. The church found her and used her blood in their experiments but left her locked up in the depths of their church with no contact with the outside world. A god chained and bound
I remember working on an essay about the formation of chiralic amino acids on astroids due to polarised light of stars while listening to the soundtrack of Bloodborne. Ebrietas Soundtrack really hits home how uncomfortable big space is. Studying astrochemistry never felt worse.
"bloodborne music hits different" and I agree, I love the elden ring, sekiro, ds's, and other game's osts, but the BB soundtrack feels like it has something extra in it that just catches you and it is my favorite soundtrack ever above any game I've played before during my 35 years alive.
I never see it mentioned but I really like the horns in the background of phase 1, they’re quiet but they have a very nice short-lived little melody 4:15
Man, hands down my favorite Bloodborne piece, other than Laurence. This track makes me so emotional, especially knowing the story of Ebrietas. A Great One who was left behind by her brethren, gets found and then captured by The Choir to be experimented on because of her Old Blood and Insight. When we find her in the Upper Cathedral Ward, she is locked away at an altar praying and completely docile, only defending herself if you engage first. The last section of the track to me sounds like final cry out, hoping to be heard... but all she gets back is silence.
If there's one thing I like to hear, it's discord or dissonance used to add 'tension'. As you said, the challenges to conventional music theory. I was never good at music theory, but I felt it in the heart, and learned it that way. A piece like this challenges you to set aside the mechanics of music, and follow a flow you never thought you'd like.
If you're looking for more bloodborne tracks, It would be cool to see you react to the one reborn and cleric beast, both of them have some of the most underrated tracks in my eyes
As for the lore I got this for you: The Choir claims that the land of Isz lies in contact with the cosmos, and that allows the Great Ones to function on transcendental planes. The Great Isz Chalice was the first holy chalice brought back to the surface since the days of Byrgenwerth, and it allowed the Choir to have audience with Ebrietas. They believe that the cosmos is just above their heads, and so, they search for astral signs with the left behind Great One, Ebrietas.
you know when I think about it the great ones ost is always majestically terrifying like you're facing these incarnation of nightmare that can make normal person mad just by seeing them but you can feel the sense of awe and undescribable god-like holiness with a little pinch of sadness or straight up horror
This track is swelled with not just disturbing feeling and glory but I also feel tragedy of Ebrietas - lore wise she was left behind and never ascended to the cosmos with her kin. I feel like seeing living creatures or people fail their highest goals or something that is destined in their existence is always hitting some personal inner hidden sadness and even fear that this will happen to us as well. This music does a perfect job of making that sadness still alien to us - we cannot tell how Ebrietas feels and so the music does not use traditional, understood human ways of showcasing that emotion. Despite how weird this track is, it still hurts and saddens, maybe a representation of empathy towards this creature of space, that characters in the world of Bloodborne lacked.
There's something crazy about descending underground and finding a God left behind by it's brothers and sisters. And of course, in typical Souls fashion, we kill it.
Before watching the video i want to give you my own impression on this song Ebrietas is one of the Bloodborne tracks that i couldn't really understand it, Bloodborne is one of my favorite video game osts of all time but this track, despite being one of fan favorite and one of yuka kitamuras most worked on tracks,i couldn't enjoy it So i will edit my comment after watching your video to see if i finally can enjoy it or not
One thing that doesn't get pointed out enough aboht Ebrietas is that, while she does also deliberately resemble Cthulu / Cthylla, she's an _angel._ She's the closest thing Bloodborne has to something glorious and seraphic, as described biblically. Great beings whose forms seem incomprehensible, with countless eyes and great powerful wings, whose majesty and power can be physically felt just from being near them.
I liked when you weren't sure if the second part of the music already started. It's always a nice change of pace to go back to Bloodborne's OST and hear more tracks where the first and second half flow into each other instead of the music coming to a complete stop. Like, before gaining access to a dump of the game's files I didn't even realize Maria's theme was split into 3 loops.
This and Living Failures are like very twisted versions of Gustav Holst's work. It also reminds me of "Also Sprach Zarathustra" from Strauss due to heavy use of brass and timpani. Cosmos in all it's majesty!
The violins and the trumpets in the refrain... OOOOOOH MYYYYYYYYYYY GODNEEEESSSSSS naaaaaaaaa naaaaaaaaaa naaaaaaaaaa naaaaaanaaaaa nananaaaaaaaa naaaaaa naaaaaaa
Speaking of themes you might have missed. What about Grimm's other theme from Hollow Knight Nightmare King Grimm is one of my favorite tracks from the game.
I feel like listening to this outside of the game loses something, because the phase two transition is accompanied by the sound of... tinkling glass and windchimes being projected by Ebrietas in her phase 2 damage aura
Well, yeah, I guess it works well with the character jajaja. And yeah , I remember you liked the track. And btw, Blapshemous 2 DLC will be out in a couple hours (on the 31th) !!! Very excited, and ofc it comes with new tracks, 9 in total, amazing. That's it. ¡Adiós!
you should definitly do midir's lst from ds3 next and scadutree avatar's theme from elden ring both are very cool and interesting imo ! Anyway perfect video as always
Honestly, out of all the soundtracks in all of the fromsoft games. To me anyway whether it is for better or worse, the lullaby of mergo is probably their most unique soundtrack produced. It is so different from the rest and one of the items in the game plays it aswell. Is it as epic or emotional as most well remembered osts from BB? Not really, but I tend to hum it from time to time and given the situation it is played in it is quite creepy. Anyway, the other pretty creepy track from BB I can think of rn is the witch of hemwick ost. Both I think are worth checking out, but that's just my opinion.
This dissonance in this track is wild. You nailed it about throwing out conventional music theory. Not the kind of thing you go about humming. No discernible melody. Even when trying to interpret mood or narrative, it feels disjointed going from melancholic to glorious to otherworldly and more while often overlapping different 'movements'. The choir goes totally nuts. Dissonance is so difficult to manage as a musician. The highest praise to that choir.
Will you consider breaking down Great Grey Wolf Sif in the future? I don’t think I’ve seen it on your channel and it’s feels galore every time it plays
I would love to hear what you have to say about Dark souls 3 : Dancer of the Boreal valley, allot of people use to say it's a hard boss to fight because it's structured differently from other music pieces.
If you have ever listened to jordan petersons take on chaos he nailed it. Chaos is infinite potential that is far too much for any one person to wrestle with. It is an infinite number of possibilities that feels unified through its power but isnt. It overwhelms you like a cohesive force without being cohesive. It feigns cohesiveness through unification of purpose. Chaos and order are two sides of the coin, they are a polarized, contradictive understanding of eachother that constitute the reality of the experience we all share. yuka kitimura nailed it when she made this track, a formless being of infinite potential, that lacked constraint and therefore failed. I can never get over how well musicians mirror reality in their music in the most absurd sense.
Did you know I beat Bloodborne live on stream? You can catch the VODs here: th-cam.com/video/u2jH7vGoVYM/w-d-xo.html

She was just in a portable toilet downstairs
When Yuka Kitamura was composing this theme, im pretty sure she said in an interview that she made the theme with the thought of the end of the world.
The ending to this OST is one of the best sounding choirs I’ve ever heard. Genuinely stunning.
Just casually dropped bloodborne ost
EBRIETAS IS HERE━━━━(゚∀゚)━━━━!! She's cute no matter how many times I see her! She's truly the perfect and ultimate idol for us hunters!! (Goes crazy)
I remember working on an essay about the formation of chiralic amino acids on astroids due to polarised light of stars while listening to the soundtrack of Bloodborne.
Ebrietas Soundtrack really hits home how uncomfortable big space is.
Studying astrochemistry never felt worse.
I kinda understood everything you said! Never would have tought that light could influence the formation of structures at that level.

Fun thing is that Ebrietas is called “Beauty” in the OST’s lyrics in latin. Top tier waifu indeed
She is. Only us with 100 insight can truly see it
I mean those green eyes and thicc thighs are not something we should ignore
@@ocean037 and those tentacles
And OH GOD, THAT MOUTH!
I never see it mentioned but I really like the horns in the background of phase 1, they’re quiet but they have a very nice short-lived little melody 4:15
One of the guy in the male choir is going absolute nuts with his voice. He really stands out and i love it❤
Bloodborne music never dissapoints! Didn't expect a Bloodborne vid, I tought they were finished, we're all happily suprised

And Martyr Logarius
Yuka Kitamura, the woman you are.
I love how the two pauses at the end show Ebrietas calling out but not being answered
FINALLYY! YOU REACTED TO EBRIETAS' SONG!!!! THANK YOU!! It's one of my favorite songs from Bloodborne!!
As for the lore I got this for you:
The Choir claims that the land of Isz lies in contact with the cosmos, and that allows the Great Ones to function on transcendental planes. This music is so underated. I absolutelly love it. Second phase is so intimidating and powerful. It feels like: You angered a god, brace yourself now.
Dropped what I was doing when I saw the notification
It's always nice when there's a new Bloodborne analysis! Great video!
the MOST underrated soulsborne theme
My favorite ❤

Ebrietas's story is heartbreaking tbh, felt bad for her.
From 1:00 to 1:29 , best part of the song 🎶
Those last 30 seconds are like having the cosmos themselves opened up to us.
It sounds like each section of the orchestra was given their own song and was forced to play them all at the same time.
エブたその荘厳な曲と可愛らしい見た目のギャップがまた良いよね

The ost is still incredible to this day!
Finally! The day is upon us!
I was precisely wishing you to react to this song yesterday, thank you so much 🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤❤❤
Happy comment :)
Thanks for another great bloodborne reaction!
Yay more Bloodborne!
There's something crazy about descending underground and finding a God left behind by it's brothers and sisters.

grant us eyes!

Ebrietas ost is like trying to describe to you what eldritch horror you just witnessed
You should PLEASE do the Witch of Hemwick boss theme next! I think it’s super underrated and worth analyzing
took me a long time to appreciate the witches theme haha great track and very sinister
The second Phase start is quite subtle.
One thing that doesn't get pointed out enough aboht Ebrietas is that, while she does also deliberately resemble Cthulu / Cthylla, she's an _angel._ She's the closest thing Bloodborne has to something glorious and seraphic, as described biblically. holy shit so hype

the wondrous parts reminds me a bit of Metyr's theme
Moon Presence soon maybe?
On the topic of Eldritch Lovecraftian Horrors, I really recommend you check out the music of Darkest Dungeon. It's really good.
This theme sounds like the cosmos itself
The violins and the trumpets in the refrain... OOOOOOH MYYYYYYYYYYY GODNEEEESSSSSS
naaaaaaaaa naaaaaaaaaa naaaaaaaaaa naaaaaanaaaaa nananaaaaaaaa naaaaaa naaaaaaa
YES FINALLY THANK YOU! :DD
Speaking of themes you might have missed. What about Grimm's other theme from Hollow Knight Nightmare King Grimm is one of my favorite tracks from the game.
Well if it isn't my favorite boss from Bloodborne and ex girlfriend. I still think about her a lot, the cosmos is just above our heads.
waiting for your martyr logarius reaction

Reminds me of the last chapter of 2001
The best
I would love to hear what you have to say about Dark souls 3 : Dancer of the Boreal valley, allot of people use to say it's a hard boss to fight because it's structured differently from other music pieces.
I'd love to hear you listen to the one reborn from bloodborne
bloodborne music be like: "resolution? home chord? the heck is that"
Agora tem que ouvir a da metyr mãe dos dedos, ela é na mesma pegada da ebrietas
Letsssgoooooooo
You should react to darkeater midir ds3 its very interesting
Referring to Bloodborne music as a sick joke is dead on 😂
Please react rey day theme from monster hunter wilds
Could you listen to sinh the slumbering dragon from dark souls 2
This music is somehow not touchable for me. It's outta space. 😵🤩
