Can someone chime in on this. I see the moss... rhizoids being trimmed, and the bottom bit shaved down before being planted. Aside from making the planting process easier, is it more beneficial to the plant's longevity to do that?
@@鋼然 rain water does contain some nutrients, that's what moss needs. Adding fertilizer is too much and will kill the moss. Destilled water has no nutrients at all and isn't that good for moss either (atleast in the long term)
A lot of it is stuff you can find at a hardware store or online, like the glass, rocks, and gravel. I looks like he is just using gravel and dirt for the plants but you could probably use potting soil too.

苔テラリウムを始めてみようと思い様々な動画見ているのですが、最初の活着君を一度濡らして乾かすのにはどういった理由があるのでしょうか？苔が付きやすくなるとかでしょうか？初心者なので教えていただけると幸いです😌
活着君から糸くずがいっぱい出るので、一度洗っています。濡れた状態だと両面テープが付きにくくなるため、乾かしています。
この方法は面倒なので、ガムテープでペタペタ糸くずをとる方法をおすすめします。

It's a microfiber fabric
Any loose fiber fabric that you can easily wedge the rhizoids into should do. Try and use something synthetic so it doesn't decay or grow mold.
