  • Bullishness behind Tesla's (TSLA) Cybercab and Robovan hinge on its ability to change the transportation industry. Nicholas Mersch says cost optimization and leveraging production will be the company's biggest headwinds moving forward. He also points to the need to win back investors after Tesla's stock sold off, while UBER rallied.

Cybercab looks like an electric version of a 1990s Honda Prelude...impractical as a taxi. Robovan looks like an Art Deco toaster.
Oh.... and that sexy Android thing, LOL.😂

Waymo is very difficult to scale due to the cost of the hardware and availability of these parts. Are you sure lidar works better in ANY situations compared to the AI vision only FSD? Geez, experts nowadays are really coming on these interviews without any understanding of the technologies used.

Saying that vision does not have depth perception tells us you don’t know what you are talking about. I only have vision and my depth perception is fine. My neural network stitches together what my cameras see together to perceive depth. You don’t need to reinvent anything that nature took billions of years to develop for all Earth creatures. The only thing Earth creatures developed other than vision is echolocation but computer vision can use night vision, x-ray vision, infrared vision and other forms of vision that is better without new hardware.

Ya, detecting depth within in a 2d images is easy and solved, there are open source models that were created by individual people for fun on huggingface that do this

These people are lying to us regarding TSLA. This is an overpriced over valued auto company. The only accurate thing said was TSLA is a “show me” story.

humans don't have lidar but we can detect potholes. Something wrong with these people that think lidar is needed.

Waymo is a geofenced solution which only work on preprogrammed routes. FSD will eventually go anywhere.

Just picked up milk using FSD in my 2023 model 3. It's here already. No touch the whole way.
