What a wonderful amount of information in a single class. Incredible, and I never saw even good musicians do the squeeze hit. That's how it should sound. Thank you very much
Thank you Michael for this fun video. I have just started learning a basic agogo rhythm at the batucada group I'm playing. And I had so much fun doing it. I will show this video to the copeira mestre here at Singapore, and I hope to be able use the rhythms that you have recommended. Thanks again....!!
Parabéns pelo seu trabalho!!! Incrivel! Você deveria fazer uma aplicativo pra ter todos os ritmos, e a gente poder treinar por cima! Parabéns mais uma vez
So I have had one of these bells for years, just doing whatever, and it never occurred to me to squeeze it. So THAT is what it's supposed to sound like
Yes, I can imagine a agogo in samba-reggae. There is a group that I give lessons to (Sambalanço) and I have teached them how to play a samba-reggae with a agogo.
Great video! what brand and model of Agogo are you using? That one has a perfect mellow sound with a short sustain that I like to hear. Most Agogos I've tried are too bright and "clunky" sounding.
The book is called: O Batuque Carioca. It is written by: Guilherme Gonçalves and Mestre Odilon Costa. If google on those names, you will find it! Good luck!
Thanks as always for your tutorials! Any suggestions on what king of agogobell to get? I have one, but the high bell is really dead and out of tune -_- So I was wondering if you had any recommendations for makers and/or models.
Thank you! The agogo that I use here is from Afro, but unfortunately it doesn't exist anymore. They glued small pieces of cork on the inside. In this way you still have the metal sound but without the long sustain....
GRANDE!! Michael de Miranda !!! conta um pouquito onde foi que aprendeste tudo isso certeza teu origem e brasileiro .....meus parabems, de um argentino que ya morou no Rio, vive em Portugal e sempre sonho tocar numa bateria
I don't know, but if you look for samba enredo's, you will find very fast samba's! In these samba's they use the agogo too, so you will have an idea how fast it can go.
By far Best drumming teacher on the web. Thanks Michael.
Thank you very much!!! Enjoy it!

The interval is an augmented 4th...sounds great. What make and size of bell is it? If anyone knows?

Haven't you thought about DVD with your lessons? Or maybe you give workshops?
Hi! Thank you for all your videos!
Could you imagine using agogo in samba-reggae? Thank you in advance.
Thenks for you videos!
I don't have a DVD. Perhaps one day I'll make one, but I do give workshops everywhere!

You have to go to the channel of Sambalancoles. Here you can find a video called: Sambalanço at Dunya Festival. Here you can see the agogo pattern.
Hi! Thank you very much for your videos. Could you tell me, where can i take note sheets, that you use in your videos?
Sounds amazing!
But I didn't get how to find that group? Any chance to hear/see something?
thank you
Your welcome!
buenísimo!
Michael, where can I find these written patterns?
How many beats per minute would a faster agogo samba pattern go?
I don't know, but if you look for samba enredo's, you will find very fast samba's! In these samba's they use the agogo too, so you will have an idea how fast it can go.
Well, I don't have a place where you can download them. But I can send you some sheets by mail.
Hello Michael,
Where can I find the book you mention? I can't seem to track it down.
Thanks!
Thank you! If you go to my channel, you can find video's about shekeres, maracas too. I hope you like them too!!
