My old band did the same thing that you guys did. While on tour in late March/early April of '93, we stayed at Bob Weston's house for the five or six days that we recorded at Albini's house (where we were also treated to an early listen of In Utero) One thing that I'll never forget about Albini's house was the horrible smell of his basement. None of us dared to ask what the smell was from and nobody was offering up any explanations so we just dealt with it. I, only just recently, found out that the foul smell was due the fact that Albini had let Slint's Brit Walford house sit for him and during his time house sitting he had busted the upstairs toilet causing toilet water to leak into the basement studio. As a sort of inadvertent consolation, Albini's house was located not too far from sort of food flavoring factory so frequent steps outside for a breath of fresh air would include the random scents of chocolate, vanilla, cotton candy etc.
re: rebound tuning - yeah if you play guitar along to the record you are going to notice the tuning, i taught myself to play guitar by playing along to records, circa 1989
I love that Adelle is just now learning the long strange trip of the Sebadoh legacy!

Bakesale is one of the best albums of all time. Drama Mine has one of the best openings riffs.
Band stories is why I'm here.
One of my favourite albums
Good stuff
Enjoying these insights, Lou! Eric's drumming on Together or Alone is something else. Almost as if he's playing the drums melodically or something.
That Bakesale album sealed it for me... (my 30 yr plus addiction to Sebadoh and F.I.) And I love it
Always wonderer why you played Rebound with a capo in all videos Ive seen - makes sense, nice to get this info!

❤
Weren't some of the bakesale recordings later put on the album Harmacy?
