It's not a remake, it's an adaptation of the broadway musical of mean girls. 10 songs from it are being adapted into the movie, a few are being reworked.

you've gotta pull yourself out of the confines of stan twitter and allow yourself to listen to other artists. Megan was great on the track and it's a catchy earworm of a pop song.
