This scene, the last scene of diebuster and the last scene of gunbuster are just so incredibly beautiful I don't know how to describe it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The point of doing scenes like this one isn't just to do something really powerful, it's to get a reaction out of the viewers, to make them go FUCK YEAH by whatever means necessary. Whether it's done by crushing the sun with a hammer of light or kicking a black hole so hard that it turns inside out or making two robots the size of universes duke it out, if watching it makes you want to punch the sky then there's no need to compare it to anything else. It's EPIC, enough said.

There was talk of a Gunbuster 3 but I believe the director passed away. This ending was satisfying and completely conclusive. No other anime has come full circle and complete in only 12 episodes.
Neither of the original directors have passed away. They're just spinning their wheels on Evangelion 1.0 + 3.0.
I feel like there are a few out there
Kazuya Tsurumaki is very much still alive, but after what became of FLCL, I dread to think what would happen to a Gunbuster 3 without his involvement.
@@MidosujiSen Gurren lagann didn't even have a fraction of the heart that the gunbuster series had. It was cool as all getout but that was all it had going for it really
It's in production hell which is good because I think they couldn't and shouldn't try to do this a third time. It's already a miracle Diebuster is as good as Gunbuster.

And said tornado fucked up so many laws of physics that the hands of god came to fix it.
So powerful it split a monster that literally warps physics so much it could escape and manipulate a black hole from millennia ago, and split the event horizon of that black hole and completely destroyed physics, then fixed said physics by completely removing the black hole
Gurren Lagann may have had heaven pierced with a drill.... But this.... This is the true meaning of epic.... Something so awe inspiring, we can never have a true grasp of it.
If Nono or Noriko had been piloting Eva-01 that show would've lasted four episodes. The angels would've been done

Normally it would be "double riders kick", but it is "rider double kick".
"Inazuma Double Kick" is an exact replica of the verbal silliness of those old TV shows.

Thats the greatness of watching them both. You never at all think they are going to mention Gunbuster at all in Diebuster and then they pull that end scene.

Oh shit! Dix-neuf's Pirate form is pretty cool. This scene is very awesome, but I'll always orgasm the hardest at the Shin-Getter 1's Stone Sunshine attack.
Both Gun and Die (buster) are a public service announcement to women...telling them that they too can be Hot Blooded enough to pilot a Super Robot.

Almost forgot to watch this today.
I love both how physics-fail this is but how in some ways it's NOT physics fail. Like, you couldn't do that to a black hole, but if you could, there at least seems like a feasible possibility that it could cause another Big Bang.
I almost didn’t watch this show. After finishing the original Gunbuster and seeing how different it’s sequel was, I felt disappointed. What I almost missed was probably the best executed reboot of any anime I’ve ever seen, one of studio Gainax’s greatest works, and dare I say FLCLs true spiritual successor.
If you don't shed a tear at the very end, your heart is made of stone.

It's just so beautiful...struggle scenes with emotionally touching BGMs make me cry better than sad scenes

@@lucifertheangelofdeath1169 it's cause the overall point of the show was to take what would actually happen if you gave a teenage boy with massive dad issues along with a couple other psychological problems the keys to a super robot. the main problem stems from overall public reaction to it (from japan's side) causing the director to spiral into a pretty nasty depression (and he already wasn't in the best mental state due to a lot of issues that came from their previous project, nadia: the secret of blue water.) so it was less the got off on making shinji's life hell and more the director had a bit of a breakdown and lashed out with the series.
except thats the bad ending. the whole point of the OG ending was shinji learning to accept himself and open his heart to others. when people complained that ending was confusing and/or sad hiadeki anno made EoE to show what happens if shinj chooses to run away again: he is forced to live in a doomed hellscape with a girl that despised him while all other souls achieve eternal happiness.
@@oliverbooth2872 I think it was in the game Super Robot Wars Alpha 3 where Shinji literally gets the emo BEATEN OUT OF HIM in a surprise twist; even more surprising is later on when he gives another mech pilot an epic 'what the hell, man' speech.... :D
@superkeijikun Now THAT would be a toss-up. But it does bring up an interesting concept. If the Inazuma Double Kick can split a black hole, then it might be able to stop the Spiral Nemesis.
Also effective against Angels. Just ask Israfel.
@shinjiemisato If you don't like those "overpowered and exaggerated" things, don't watch it. That's EXACTLY what the anime is about (With some deeper story behind it, but it's mostly about epicness)
Well if we're going to go and Start including setup time into how Powerful the attack is; let's just assume that Lagann rapidly hacks and fuses GaoGaiGar with spiral power and they do a Genesic GaoLagann Goldion Driller... Though Giga Drillou Hikari Ni Nare doesn`t quite have a very good ring to it.
damn, what i saw here is, gainax is like to make anime that defies any physical and logical means.. black hole is going to split by effort and guts.. that is epic

So they strapped engines to Earth, hurled it at the monster, Nono reappeared, completed merged with trillions of the red aliens, stopped a planet (which was travelling at near light speed), then kicked the monster (who had a black hole for a core) in the face while spinning so fast they generated a tornado..IN SPACE. (Space has no wind) THEN destroyed the monster with a single kick so powerful it SPLIT a black hole, which was trapped between Nono's hands, essentially preventing a second Big Ban

@DreamTraveller1 Surprisingly, even though it's been over a year since this comment was made, Spamming micro-blackholes when she was specifically designed to do that as a function is more sense than TTGL's Ability to manipulate PROBABILITY. However, I like both, and consider them separate since both lack each other's primary fuel source. (Degeneracy Reactor & Spiral Energy respectively)

@@Xunkun To be fair, 1) Gunbuster's reality has it's own physics IIRC, that they've stayed internally consistent to from what I understand, and 2) Their main source of power is literally an artificial singularity that feeds itself off of said singularity's future self or some insanity like that. They haven't weaponized paradox, they *gave it a job*. Their "Warp" travel? They are mathing so hard they're literally bullshitting the universe into believing they are where *they* say they are, not where (by all conventional physics and universal laws in general) they're supposed to be.
They didn't need to kill God, they replaced him. And then when they kicked Satan in the balls so hard he ran off for 12,000 years, they decided that was boring, and promptly left their shit scattered all over the place in order to become the stereotypical mysterious asshole Precursor race *to their own decendants*.

I know this isn`t the appropriate place to start an argument about the ultimate special move.. however while Goldion Crusher is immensely powerful and my first instict was to shout "HIKARI NI NAARE!"; a more extensive and varied view of Mecha Fandom considers The Discussion Ender to be the Ideon Gun. It is so ridiculously powerful that people do not mention it out of pure disgust rather than awe.
Goldion Crusher is much, much more cool, interesting and fun however; same goes for J Phoenix.
