Thank you - the F units have always been my favorite

Editing note: My ears have failed me, these units are equipped with Soundtraxx not ESU. Sorry, it has been a long week. Normally I would have caught this simply by the way the functions are setup and the big sound difference between the two. I still say the locos sound good to my ears but they are not ESU.

James, you may like the 'stereo effect' of having the horn sound from both units,, but it's highly unrealistic, since the B unit didn't have a horn...

you are correct sir. Once I step up my layout and operation realism I will probably be a little stricter.

Dude, you have to understand that these are models, not real. They do not have to always be realistic, they just have to please the purchaser, if he likes the stereo effect, so be it. I usually run 2 loco consists, and if the horns match fairly closely, I sometimes leave the sound on the second loco. It pleases me and that is all that matters. And sometimes I forget and leave the second headlight on. And the world does not end. Sometimes we take this hobby was too seriously. Have a blessed day.

This does not sound like a Loksound select, more like Bachmann Sound Value to me.

Yeah does not sound like an ESU decoder soundfile in the KCS at least.

wolfen216 ya it sounded more like Tsunami sound in those KCS units

This is Soundtraxx, by the way (even though it's been said for a while.)

I like Intermountain, but they put weak speakers in from the factory. Pull that thing out and wire in a pair of cube speakers with enclosures in parallel and listen to the difference. Trust me.

Great review, but like every other company, no one wants to add the spark arrestors.

Very much soundtraxx sound you demo'd there.

That's definitely soundtraxx, not ESU. I'd recognize their crappy 567 idle anywhere.
