I surprisingly love this series that gave me glimpses of 90s anime and perhaps studio trigger best anime maybe since gurren lagann. My only issues is that the series was too short and needed flesh out more of the side characters more ideally the mother. Episode 6 was definitely the peak of this series. My second favourite anime of the year so far next to made in abyss season 2.
Don't get me wrong, I did really like this show, but yes, I completely agree with you, more fleshing out of the characters would have made it so much better. And yeah! The mom! I would have loved to see more of that, and the academy too. I have sadly not yet watched season 2 of Made in Abyss. But I absolutely loved the first season! It was amazing!
