How well does it shrink/compress if I want to use it for a one nighter? Both the 65 and 75 liter option? Also, is buying the outlet option on their website risky?
Both the 65 and 75 liter sizes have compression straps that can compress the load vertically and horizontally, however it won't be able to compress any shorter than the frame height. The height is listed as 33.7in for the 75 and 32in for the 65 liter.
Besides coming in different capacities, there are mostly organizational difference: sleeping bag compartment, design of the front storage pockets, etc, and the Apex comes in one size while the Baltoro comes in 3 torso lengths. You can check out the Apex in more detail here: www.enwild.com/mountainsmith-apex-60-2022.html
There's no side mesh pocket on the right side? Instead it's a water bottle pocket? And it's not removable is it? My water bottle is usually on the left side rather than right side due to an arm injury, so having it on the right is useless for me
Yeah, that water bottle pocket kind of sucks and I don't know why they insist on putting it on there. It's good for a water bottle and not much else, whereas a standard side pocket is good for many things. You're supposed to be able to reach it better but I can't reach it any better angled like that than I can if it's standing straight up.
This is a men's specific pack, but with the dynamic comfort fit and multiple sizes, it works for a variety of body types. Gregory makes a women's specific pack called the Deva, which may be a better fit. Here's the link to the Deva 60: www.enwild.com/gregory-deva-60-womens-2022.html
@@Enwild Hi, I am 6ft with a torso length of about 20.5 inches. That puts right between size med. vs large. Any suggestion on what would be better? Sounds like the guy in the video (dave?) was wearing a medium. Any info on his measurements?
Dave has a 17.5 inch torso, so he usually wears small or medium size packs. Oftentimes folks will size down (medium in your case) so you can lengthen the packs to your correct size rather than sizing up (large in your case) and getting a pack that is just too big.
The Baltoros have the FreeFloat A3 suspension system, which is designed to flex with the natural movements of your body. However, with the newer tensioned mesh style, it does not "swivel" as obviously as the former style did. The hipbelt should function similarly, albeit more subtly.

Nice review! How does it compare to Mountainsmith Apex 60? In my understanding, they are for similar purpose

Does this pack fit well on women too?

Hello! What size pack (Small, Medium, Large) was used in the video above for the Baltoro 65L? Are there loops in the front for me to clip a carabiner?
Hi there! Dave is wearing the size Medium pack. Where are you looking to clip a carabiner?

Do the baltoro backpack stil come with a hipbelt that rotates ?
