I finally understand how to make ribbon candy! I was trying to practice this from left to right and it wasn't working! When you said, "these are just big S's," it finally clicked! So, I started practicing from right to left as if I were writing! And it looks perfect!!!! I'm so excited now to try this with my machine! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
Your content is worth much more than the $2.99 fee for an extended worksheet. Sorry you have to deal with those kinds of comments. I'm looking forward to following the feathers workshop quilt along on my Nebula quilt top. Now to get that top done! Love all you do and appreciate your generosity always!
Angela, I think you are a great teacher for people who are learning to quilt like myself. I found the last quilt I did a lot of different quilt designs that I had never done before. I actually did pebbles and those straight angles/squares too and even though they were not perfect I was happy with how they turned out. I have now saved all of your videos so that I can go over them whenever I want to learn a bit more or fix my mistakes by watching the video with the design I am trying to master. Thank you for sharing your techniques with everyone who wishes to learn like myself😇😇🤩🤩😇🐱
OH thank you so much! I never had heard of thread painting before...that would cover up a lot of mistakes..haha Your suggestions are so helpful..thanks again...You have the best long arm quilting channel ever!❤
Above and below the center line!! Wow, never got that before when looking at this design.Thank you for the great break down on how to do this, It should come out much better for me now!! That was what I was missing!!!!
Look forward to your chats ….you always have so much wonderful information and you’re just the sweetest gal out there thank you for all you do for the quilting world❣️❤️🙏😊
i know i am two years late but this was really helpful i can't wait to try the hearts, the echoed ribbon candy and overlapping ribbon on my heart quilt
I’m excited!!! I learned to machine quilt from you!! I’ve not tried ribbon candy yet so am looking forward to hearing the tutorial. Always good to hear from you! Oh, I have my wine right here!!
I am new to your show and have learnt so much in every episode. I have a practice quilt that I am working on at the moment so I am trying to have a go at everything I am getting from each show. Such fun
I have been binge watching all your videos.. loving all the tips and tricks. I have only ever done meandering and walking foot quilting. I am working on a special quilt so when it is done i an going to try the spirls and leaves.. Thank you for the videos.
I love the idea of marking out the lines and doing it inside of a big block. I was trying to find something to do for my quilt that I’m working on now on the corner blocks ….this is perfect and then it looks so great when the line is erased thanks again!!❣️❣️
I use to be hand quilter… you can take it anywhere and can be so relaxing. I’m just to old now to take a whole year or more to complete a quilt…LOL….try doing a lap quilt to smaller quilt on a machine and you will love it…. Have fun quilting! 😊
Oh and thank you for thinking about us longarmers. That’s so hard to follow a sit down machine and transfer it to longarming. Too many you tubers don’t do longarm quilting.
Thank you I think I understand, now doing it. I total get you charging for the directions we apricate your total and so thanking for putting this on u tube,
I hate that I am at work but I watch later. I just got my HQ Infinity. This was so helpful!! I live in Huntsville Alabama or I would have gotten it from you!
Hi Angela, First thanks for putting your quilting tips on TH-cam. Second, you should charge for the PDF version. It takes a lot of time work to document all of the steps in the process, including adding graphic and you (and everyone else) should be paid for the work you do. If people understood how much time is expended to produce these types of documents, they would understand paying less than $3 is a true bargain!
I know that I'm watching this video well after it was posted, however I'm unable to download the free instructions. Are they no longer available? Thanks in advance !
You mentioned imigining a horizontal dotted line through the center of the area. Do you think it would be helpful to mark that line, or would this be too distracting while quilting?
Hi Angela really looking forward to tonight live chat. I have a question. I am quilting a very large quilt in my domestic sewing machine , but I'm really struggling to keep my swirls smooth because it's so heavy. I am supporting it on a table on my left but it's the right side I have problems with because I am starting in the middle of the quilt.. any tips please? Maroulla from the UK
Angela, I love your videos and learn so much from you. I am so excited that one of my guilds is having you as a speaker via zoom in March. I would love to join one of your quilt alongs but how can I do that? I just can’t just leave it on my frame during the entire project.
For all you give us for free, it’s completely legit for you to charge a fee for your expanded handout. 9 pages for $3?! It’s the least one can do for you. Thank you for all you do!
FYI, the links to your online shop aren't working. I tried the one on the bottom of the About page and the one in the top banner. (The link is going to shopify and says the shop is unavailable.)
Couldn’t you just use some placement dots for practice until you gain muscle memory? Your brain is literally building new neural networks as you develop muscle memory which will eventually make the process automatic. You’re doing a great job decoding your process.
My ribbon candy has improved after hearing Angela say not be afraid to go out into the unquilted area. It really works!!

Hi Angela. Love your suggestions. One thing I did to learn this is to visualize that I’m stitching around quarters to keep them round.
You are my favorite teacher. I love your fun personality and the way you explain the process of the stitch/design. Thank you for all you do for us!

Thanks for such helpful info! I do have a question. Where's a good place in the design to pause if you need to stop and move your hands?!

What design would suggest for a 9” border?
Wish I could buy a quilt
I see large balloons that touch when I quilt it
Greatness!
