  • We swing over to Holosun to check over the new Shot Show 2023 offerings. There were some really exciting night vision and thermal options that look to have some really amazing designs. It was really interesting to see the optics offer both a normal reticle and the thermal or night vision option.
I also love seeing all the new optics offerings and can't wait to hook them onto my setups!

      @@husky701rider9 "who makes it already?"
I believe the first red dot+thermal combo is like 6 years old or more. Who makes a better one already? That would be the Infiray FAL19, a way better objective lens, with an actually viable range of detection, unlike the utter shit Holoyuan has shown so far. Exact same price point? Not really, if you knew anything about thermals you would know that's simply not possible, the cost is almost entirely defined by the size of the germanium lenses (absolutely necessary for any thermal device, and very expensive on its own). This piece of shit has a tiny objective lens, which explains the short detection range (and the low price). The specs on this innovation from Holoyuan are similar to the much older Meprolight reflex+thermal, or the SIG reflex+thermal; the cores got better in recent years, but with such a small objective lens, the performance at distance will be ass, and since there is no way around low refresh rate (50-60hz), aspiring to do CQB with this is delusional.
The FAL19 is in stock right now in several shops, both in the US and in Europe, so yeah, plenty available. They released it a couple of months ago and were also displaying that along with their Acog-like thermal (probably one of the best bang for the buck thermals out there) at Shotshow this year.
