There are many factors that Korean parents have in mind, but I think that even Korean parents that are now in their 50s accept quite well the foreigner significant others of their kids. Of course if you go to a more undeveloped or more traditional area such as Daegu, then yes, you can encounter quite close minded people, but the people from Seoul is in general quite open to international marriage. And I think that more than being foreigner they care about the nationality (if you are European or American is a big plus), and if you speak Korean; if you have adapted to the country and can communicate well in Korean then, they usually don't have any problem with it. On the other hand they care about the education but they care regardless of being Korean or foreigner. I believe that portraying Korean parents as some kind of very confucianism-conservative people that very very rarely accept foreigners it is up to some point, part of the fetichization of the Korean culture and society, some kind of "look, I am foreigner, but I am so special that they admit me", when in reality it is not that rare. I think it is more difficult to find a Korean boy that wants to date a foreginer long term than to find Korean parents that accept the foreigner girlfriend. Anyways, it is very nice that Jin's parents accept the marriage so well ^^

I’m from England and we do not take marriage life seriously ( but few classy English people share very good examples though) like the way Korean or other Asian people do. Marriage is not something that you should be deciding in haste. Rather than rushing you guys need to take time and understand each other even more. After years even if you get marry, there will be ups and downs And numerous conflicting opinions. That’s the time you need to think wisely and act.. and understand that we all are humans.

It's really good and not wasting time to wait certain age or to wait until financial stable coz finance matter are always not stable it always changing. I gather that Jin's parents are camera shy. Like all parents they feel their kids are always too young to get married, but the truth is they do wish the best for their kids. His parent's advise is based on alot of experiences and their careful consideration. Based on my experience It is really hard to get married when you are not financially stable,but you can get through it if you work hard and support each other.I got married at the age of 22 and my husband was 21 years old,we had a baby shortly after.It's hard to take care of the baby with out the help of our parents but we did it.my husband doesn't have a stable job at that time but he's really a hard worker so thanks god we survive the hardships, now we are 13 years married.

I totally agree with the Mom. First take time to earn a lot of money. Focus on career. Get a good job. Be successful. If you get married and have kids it's really hard to focus on your self achievements coz you have to focus on your family and kids. I totally agree with the Mom. First take time to earn a lot of money. Focus on career. Get a good job. Be successful. If you get married and have kids it's really hard to focus on your self achievements coz you have to focus on your family and kids. No regrets in marrying but there are things I realized after I got married in Korea.
It’s good that they prepare for alternate careers, but I’d say a TH-cam Channel with over 1.5 Million Subs is a pretty successful career in and of itself. They likely earn pretty good $’s from their channel and are self-employed.
