CBS makes the music and image packages available to all CBS affiliates; it is optional for non-O&O's. Meredith's KMOV/St. Louis picked it up this past month, changing their logo a bit to incorporate the Eye into it for the first time in several years and some other modifications.
WGCL-TV in Atlanta WGCL-TV, virtual channel 46, is a CBS-affiliated television station licensed to Atlanta, Georgia, United States. The station is owned by the Meredith Local Media subsidiary of Des Moines, Iowa-based Meredith Corporation
I love both the owned and operated television stations and the channels that is owns and operates by the CBS Television Stations, the division of CBS Corporation.
Notes: -WDJT-TV/Milwaukee is owned and operated by Weigel Broadcasting. -WGCL-TV/Atlanta and WFSB/Hartford/New Haven (the latter not shown) are owned and operated by Meredith. In all cases, they somehow use CBS's O&O graphics.
WCCO definitely has the most unique opening with using Enforcer NG1, the previous graphic's station ID animation with these graphics. But since I'm from Pittsburgh, KDKA has the best open.
Fun Fact: Most of these openings use a theme named "Metropolis", composed by Gari Media Group under the "CBS Enforcer News Package" CD #16 with around 33 cuts.
There seems to be a couple of problems: WDJT-TV is NOT owned by CBS, the station is only affiliated by it. The owner of this station is Weigel Broadcasting. WGCL-TV has the same problem, with the station being owned by Meredith Corporation.
Those were probably from their days as part of Group W Broadcasting, which did own a few stations.. You can tell by the lettering. Group W also owned KPIX in San Francisco. They changed their number 5 to match the Group W font and they kept it. Group W, at one time, owned Filmation (the producers of 'He-Man', 'Ghostbusters', 'BraveStar', et al.
CBS O&O WJZ-TV (CBS 13)in Baltimore, MD is suppose to be getting a brand new set soon. They are now called "WJZ13 News". Hopefully they will get "The Enforcer" theme music also.
@@TheBigFiz21 But WJZ Did Not Used The Enforcer Theme Instead It Use Like Fireflies By Universal Production Music It Use To Have The Chroma Cues Theme From 1987-2017
WJZ updated it's look a few weeks ago. New logo and intro. They don't have the enforcer theme. It's similar to WBZ in Boston. Same Set. Hopefully they will get a new set.
Fun fact: WDJT (CBS 58 Milwaukee) and WGCL (CBS 46 Atlanta) are not O&O’s of CBS. They just happen to use their graphics package. WDJT still uses their graphics to this day while WGCL changed theirs to a non-owned graphics package. You also forgot WJZ (CBS 13 Baltimore), which is owned by CBS.
It would have been if CBS should have owned WTTV Bloomington/Indianapolis, IN and WTTK Kokomo, IN to have CBS O&O opens to brand as CBS 4 News Indiana. Unfortunately, WTTV/WTTK are owned by Nexstar Media Group, both affiliated with CBS.
You Listed the CBS O&O's on the VHF Side but does that Mean they don't own the 3 UHF Stations in Detroit (62), Atlanta (46), & Milwaukee (58)? I was Surprised the Clip Showed the Atlanta & Milwaukee Station. I know they Owned Stations in Austin, TX & Salt Lake & Wherever, but I had no Idea that they Owned the Sacramento Station, if You Can Set Me Straight on the Total # of CBS O&O they Own in the U.S.? & What Cities Their in Besides N.Y., LA., Chicago, the Bay Area, Philly, Baltimore, Boston Pittsburgh, Miami, Baltimore, & the Dallas / FT Worth Metroplex?
I think the Enforcer themes are a CBS thing. I know some non CBS O&O's have used some forms of The Enforcer theme at some point in their News opens. Some of them go back to the late 90's to early 2000's. WUSA-TV 9 in Washington, DC in the early 2000's and WTVR-TV 6 in Richmond, Va in the late 90's or early 2000's
Neither WDJT Nor WGCL are CBS O&O's. CBS owns stations in Miami, San Francisco, New York City, Boston, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Chicago, Los Angeles, Denver, Dallas/Fort Worth, Minneapolis, and Sacramento. Graphics for these and other stations are not exclusive to the owners and can be syndicated out to other stations. Please do your research before posting a video like this
Dude, please stop. You get the point. Plus he did use all stations owned by CBS and operated by the CBS Television Station Division in addition to the two other stations. This is a good video.

RJ McAllister WNEM uses it, although that station is owned by the same owner as KMOV.
The Group W stations like WJZ and KDKA used to have way more autonomy.

Not for long unfortunately. Once the sell to gray is confirmed by the FCC get ready for some more changes at that station.
Prior to 2017 FLNN in Lyons had the same exact logo as KCNC in this clip; the 4 for Lyons was changed at 4 pm Denver time on December 31, 2016.

Harrison Fletcher CBS licenses it to them.
Note that the WBZ letters are in squares reminiscent of the BBC.
3:34 WFOR is pretty much the only station that reverses the colors of the number and the network logo. The network logo is gold, not silver.
Does anyone notice the difference between the WCCO intro and the other CBS stations seen here? They use a different verson of the theme!
wncn also didn't follow it
In the beginning of clip, there is a CBS Reality id, which is co-owned by AMCNI and CBS International.
3:38 this coolest intro ever of CBS2 News Pittsburgh KDKA
KDKA has the same animation and text elements as WCBS except the "KDKA" text above the logo.
WCCO News Minneapolis ident was by @Winnipeg TV News Channel
WCCO definitely has the most unique opening with using Enforcer NG1, the previous graphic's station ID animation with these graphics. But since I'm from Pittsburgh, KDKA has the best open.
Minneapolis/St Paul, Minnesota is my home town
And yes there sound is nice even for the morning newscast
WDJT's with Overture though.....so majestic!
Coincidentally Overture was first commissioned by ‘CCO competitor KSTP.
Why is there such variance in the volume? One is at normal volume; I can barely hear the next one.
i like how a lot of them are channel 2 lol
edit: and 4

Left out WJZ - Baltimore
WJZ Baltimore Does Not Use Enforcer Theme It Use The Chroma Cues Until 2017
The Best Opening on this list WCCO-TV... 02:34 missing WJZ-Baltimore btw...even though they didn't follow any O&O mandates until about 3yrs ago

Yes, but they use the O&O graphics (CBS licenses it to them, NBC does something similar with their affiliates if they want them as well)
+William P WSMV in Nashville (a Meredith station) licenses their graphics from NBC.
WDJT has the same music as our ABC 4 Utah, but that station is owned by nexstar.
That's odd..WDJT is CBS affiliate, but it's owned by Weigel Broadcasting
WJZ doesn't use those graphics, but it's owned and operated by CBS.
Wjz still used camoa cues they used since 1988 thoughtout ABC affiliation years.

WIVB Channel 4 in Buffalo, NY is a CBS affiliate, but is owned by LIN Broadcast.
Not anymore: LIN was purchased by Media General, which then was purchased by Nexstar.
This theme is no longer exclusive to CBS owned and operated stations

I wished WGCL kept those CBS O&O graphics. We possibly could have seen a redition of the modern CBS O&O graphics like CBS 58 Milwaukee
Am I missing something or are the 2015 NBC and CBS O&O opens very similar to each other?
No

Agree that intentionally. Targeting the building and is not coincidence
