- This is a TV bandscan taken October 26 in Long Island City, NY and October 27 in North Massapequa, NY. It is posted here for nonprofit educational purposes only.

FYI, _Live with Kelly_ is actually a locally produced program (produced by WABC-TV), but is syndicated nationwide by Disney-ABC Home Entertainment and Television Distribution. _Access Hollywood_ is a similar example, where it is produced by KNBC-TV Los Angeles, but distributed nationwide by NBCUniversal Television Distribution.
Nice TV Bandscan ! As a French TV DX-er, I went to visit NYC on '2014 ; I watched TV channels at my hotel room but couldn't scan as it was cable TV. So your bandscan is useful to show to foreign DX-ers how US Digital TV Works :-) Here in France, it is different : Each channel from a multiplex (which can contains 5 tv channels) is licensed individually ; but a same group can have severals channels, not necessarily carried by a same multiplex. Actually each French TV transmitter carries 5 HD multiplex, only UHF 21 to 60 is used from now on (when analogic TV, was 21 to 69).

REPACK INFO:
-WNET/Newark (channel 13) will move to channel 12, displacing Daystar O&O WPXU-LD/Amityville.
-WLIW/Garden City (channel 21) will move to channel 32, displacing WXNY-LD/New York.
-NBC O&O WNBC/New York (physical channel 28, virtual channel 4) will channel share with sister station and Telemundo O&O WNJU/Linden (that station will have its own repack info later on in this comment) while keeping NBC's PSIP channel 4 and Cozi TV subchannel. Afterwards, WNBC's old signal will be taken up by WEPT-CD/Newburgh (not shown here).
-WNYJ-TV/West Milford (physical channel 29, virtual channel 66) went dark on October 25, 2017. As a result, its physical channel will be taken up by WLNY-TV/Riverhead (currently on 47; after the move, its PSIP channel, 55, will still be kept).
-UniMás O&O WFUT-DT/Newark (physical channel 30, virtual channel 68) will move to channel 26, displacing WYXN-LD/New York.
-Ion O&O WPXN-TV/New York (channel 31) will move to channel 34, forcing América Tevé (ex-MundoMax) affiliate WPXO-LD to move to channel 4.
-WNJU/Linden (physical channel 36, virtual channel 47) will move to channel 35, displacing both WNYX-TV/New York and NJTV member W35DK-D/Sussex (both not shown). As mentioned, WNBC will channel share with WNJU once the repacking is completed; consequently, WNJU's old digital channel will be taken up by CBS O&O WCBS-TV/New York (whose Long Island transmitter on channel 22 will be displaced).
-MyNetworkTV O&O WWOR-TV/Secaucus (physical channel 38, virtual channel 9) will move to channel 25, displacing WASA-LD/Port Jervis, New York.
-Univision O&O WXTV-DT's (channel 41) programming and subchannels will be shared with WFUT-DT on channel 26.
-Fox O&O WNYW/New York (physical channel 44, virtual channel 5) will move to channel 27 once TBN O&O WTBY-TV/Poughkeepsie, New York (not shown here) moves its signal to WDVB-CD's (not shown here either) channel 22 frequency.
-WMUN-CD/New York, New York (channel 45) went dark on August 25, 2017.
-WMBQ-CD/New York, New York (channel 46) will channel share with WNET while keeping channel 46 as its PSIP channel.
-WBQM-LD/New York, New York (physical channel 50, virtual channel 51) will either move channels or go dark, since that station is above channel 36.
-WNJN/Montclair (physical channel 51, virtual channel 50) will channel share with WNJB/New Brunswick (physical channel 8, virtual channel 58) and keep its PSIP channel 50.
Nice job on catching WNJU right on time, the .2 subchannel had Baywatch on, a classic in the 90s. ;)

I once did this in a video for my area. i once picked up Stations in the Bay area yet i was picking them up in sacramento. not all were picked up though. i was able to pick up KTVU as the most clearest signal in the bay area. their tower is located outside Oakland towards Antioch.
That's an impressive band scan, certainly shows what TV services are available in the New York area, I live in Melbourne in the State of Victoria, Australia and here we have 3 main Commercial stations, Ch7, Ch9 and Ch10 and 2 national stations, ABC & SBS, which is an ethnic TV service, they all have their own digital sub-channels, ABC & SBS TV also carry radio services on a few of their channels as well.

I know it's been 7 years, but thank you for all the work you put into this Bandscan. At 19:31 is my favorite show (K of Q), and it fits so well into a New York scan!

What is the bit rate and resolution of the sub stations ? I thought only a max of 3 could exsist on a channel ?
+digitalmediafan An ATSC station can have up to 99 subchannels (though each channel would be compressed to below-dial-up-internet quality to fit that many into a single carrier). I believe a station in San Francisco runs 12.
I don't keep records of the subchannels' resolutions. If they appear in the video as 16:9 you know it's 720p or 1080i. Appearing as 4:3 means nothing since some of my tuners only output 4:3.
why is there color bars at 7:32
Where I live, WOTH-CD carries *EIGHT* subchannels, while its sister station WBQC-LD carries six. The former will soon go off the air (it has 39 months to do so) according to a public notice released by the FCC concerning the spectrum auction and its results.

To everyone: New Jersey has never had its own television market for 80 years. We do not have an actual, physical television station. It’s either New York City or Philadelphia. Our "local" news comes from either side of the Hudson and Delaware river. NJ stories that the top of news are murders, warehouse fires, crime, etc. They have such a negative side for our state.

Why do I think WASA LD should be carrying WAPA América on their first channel? I could predict and do their top of the hour ID, and move it to 44-1 lol...

I don't think WAPA América is broadcasting off-the-air anywhere in US. That maybe a Cable TV / satellite-only outfit... And, yes, I do want EL GATO DEL CUATRO back as their mascot....
almost every where you go you see 2 pbs stations in one city
Cincinnati is no exception: WCET (Cincinnati, Ohio), WPTO (Oxford, Ohio), and WCVN-TV (KET, Covington, Kentucky) are the three PBS stations available (although some cable operators choose to carry WPTO's sister station WPTD, Dayton, Ohio).
TV stations affiliated with PBS. Cincinnati has three PBS affiliated TV stations.
Harrison Fletcher North Carolina has 13 PBS stations. With the exception of WTVI in Charlotte, they all operate under the UNC-TV moniker and name.
Pittsburgh used to have 3 now they have 2. (WQED and WNEO)
CWA there WAS 3 in Chicago. Then Wycc switched to MHZ worldview and all programming moved to Wttw and wyin has been off the air for over 3 months because of ice, snow and just bad weather and now there getting the transmitter and the owner had a personal speech on the website! Www.lakeshorepbs.com
WPXU-LD, as an Ion O&O, used to carry WPXN-TV's Ion programming. In 2014, Word of God Fellowship, Inc., brought WPXU-LD from Ion and subsequently turned it into a Daystar affiliate.

Insignia NS-DXA1, though the WLIW clips were recorded off a Hauppauge USB tuner. I'd expect WLIW to be receivable in Queens.
+egrabow440 I have a Radio Shack UHF antenna with a power boost signal and I can't receive WLIW on my Panasonic Digital Television
Power boosters can do more harm than good. Multipath is also an issue in highly urban areas.
+egrabow440 mine is the same one under the Zenith name. JVC also has this tuner in their BD/VCR combo players.

A subscription service carried on some Ion affiliates. Normal ATSC can't tune those subchannels.
Now Airbox is being shut down.
