She is late on the FH and off balance
I love how she takes the ball on the rise and her footwork is awesome ❤️ she can't maintain tough mentality in critical matches but she is so talented!
i really do not see any ball taken on the rise. I love seeing her play. She is explosive strong and daring with her shots but she uses way too much energy and power for what she actually produces - landing on the back foot almost 100% of the time. I wish she could play more effortlesly, stay closer to the baseline and find the ball earlier. There are way too many players like her in the WTA these days playing very inefficient tennis.
@@vgkinis i can't say with certainty but maybe loading the back foot adds more of her weight to the ball so helps her to hit hard. She plays flat close to the baseline and tries all her returns of serve to be on the rise

She's 29 and ranked 75 in the world, so you expect her to be pretty dang good, and she is. But if you compare this vid to one of Halep practicing from the same angle you can see why she's 72 spots behind Halep. Halep has much better feet and superior preparation, and therefore hits with better balance, spacing, and leverage on the ball. Giorgi gets caught just a bit late on a lot of forehands here, which in a hitting session is indicative of poor technique (i.e. late preparation.) She tends to have to lug the forehand around rather than striking it with precision. No chance at all against a top player playing well.

I need to hit the weights more. She's solid, really intense, and has amazing endurance for long rallies. She makes me look like I'm taking the ball in the stands behind me. Lol
I don't think there is much question about her ability to take the ball early and drive it. She does that as well as anyone on the tour. My observation is that she hasn't developed enough light and shade to her game (e.g., Kim Clijsters, Vika Azarenka, Naomi Osaka, Simona Halep). There is no soft hands, drop shots, even enough variation in her serve. These other players I mentioned ALL have that. I would love to see Camila really blossom and go deeper in big tournaments, but until those other parts of the game develop, I'm afraid it is only going to get tougher for her. Mitch Long
And simply put, she just doesn't care to develop her game. I don't even think she actually likes the game an only plays to win money.
