      I thank you for your different videos. How long does one have to wait to sign up for medigap after moving to those five open enrollment states? And can this person move back to the home state afterwards? This inquiry is for a friend.

    I just spent hours researching Medigap policies online...and I got MORE from your video than ALL of what I was able to pry out of a large number of sites. Google has become a swamp of incomplete, and deceptive information. It used to be my go to source, but it's now a tedious, deceptive mess. I love your videos. They're detailed, intelligent and complete. No filler. No bullshit. No associations with any specific companys. THANK YOU. I havent needed your wisdom for some time, and almost forgot how excellent you are, as a source of this information. You made my night!

    Very informative!! One other way an MA enrolled person can transition to a supplemental plan WITHOUT underwriting is if your MA plan is pulled by the insurer. Thats how i was able to easily switch from an Aetna MA to a Plan G for 2025. But its ONLY if your MA plan is no longer offered for the new year.

    Should I go with the cheapest offering for my plan every year, or stay with the one I have even when the premiums rise? I've heard different opinions, one saying go ahead and change and the other saying the one I switch to may rise next year, leaving me to have to change again, maybe even back to the one I left this year. I'm in NY state on Plan N, this year I had AARP/UnitedHealthCare but for next year TransAmerica is cheaper. UHC raised their premiums almost $40 for next year!

      You will want to go with the most stable rated. Some carriers offer really low premiums when you first join then hike your prices up high. Those are usually the smaller/local carriers. Going with a carrier that has a good rate stability will be sufficient so when they are raising premiums it's not drastic jumps. Give us a call we would be happy to review those carriers and confirm which is the most stable rated. You can call us at 800-864-8890.

    Help! Marvin am I to understand here in Comments, that I will have to pay the full amount of my deductible before my Plan starts covering any doctor's visit, that Medicare doesn't pay? If my doctor visit is $400.00, Medicare pays 80%, who pays the 20% balance? Me? Or my supplemental plan G? I see my doctor about 2 times a year thus far. What is the fastest way to get my deductible paid? Thanks. You're great!

    • @MedicareSchool
      @MedicareSchool  หลายเดือนก่อน

      With a Supplement plan, Medicare will cover 80% of the cost before you've met the deductible, and you’ll be responsible for the remaining 20%. Once you've met your deductible, the Supplement plan will cover the rest.
      For example, if you’re billed $400, you’d pay $257 to meet your deductible, and then the carrier will cover the rest. If you’re billed $150, you’d pay the full amount toward your deductible. Going forward, you'd continue paying until your deductible is met, and after that, the carrier will cover the remaining costs.

    • @MedicareSchool
      @MedicareSchool  หลายเดือนก่อน

      It depends on when you started Medicare. You have 6 months from the day your Part B started to get a Supplement plan with no underwriting. After that 6-month window, medical underwriting is required. However, this also depends on the state you live in, as some states don’t require underwriting.
      If you don’t live in one of those states, it’s possible you may not medically qualify due to the double bypass surgery. We’d be happy to help answer any questions and assist where we can. Feel free to give us a call at 800-864-8890.

    Thank you Marvin for this video, it is all true based on my real life experience. I will tell the people that don't get Part B when you get Part A. My wife worked at three employers during the time I turned 65 and she time she retired and I was not covered for Part B by her plan. You must obtain from each employer a Federal form that states you are covered under your wife's coverage. And there can't be a gap, not even a month and the coverage offered after layoff or firing does not count. You must have contiguous coverage the whole time to avoid the additional Part B cost. These are the rules, just get the form as it happens for each job. My question is why are there so strict and costly rules for the people who earned Medicare and it does apply to Medicaid and illegals who all get free medical coverage. This is not right.

      We are currently not hiring at this time. We will be looking into that mid year 2025.

    Plan G does not have the best value. Not any more. The premium will be more expensive with every year. Many people will not be able to afford it when they get older. I will take plan N. The difference between G and N is about $50 in Missouri. It will save me $600 per year. It's a good thing we have Missouri anniversary rule!

    I am too poor to afford it. Bastards are ripping off the poor.

      If you are that poor, you could probably get Medicaid as well. I wouldn’t complain when the rest of the taxpayers are taking care of you.

      Very informative…thank you!
      I’m one of many retirees living/traveling part or full time outside the USA. I purchase travel insurance for emergencies and pay out of pocket for other care while also paying for my US Medicare. It’s expensive! It would be great if there was a TH-cam video providing more info about the Foreign Travel Emergency Benefit and any other information/recommendations that might be helpful. Please consider!

      We do apologize about that, you can slow down the speed of the video at any time. If you click the settings icon in the bottom right corner of the video, and go to playback speed, it will slow the video down! I hope this helps!

    Choose plan N or HDG. Advantage and medigap plan G are both bad options for different reasons.

      Why is G a problem?

    • @ChrisSadowski-pp1np

      @lisaelias300 with higher rate increases, you could see your premium end up being around $500 a month by the time you're 85.

      So, premiums would never go up if you choose N?

    • @ChrisSadowski-pp1np
      @ChrisSadowski-pp1np หลายเดือนก่อน

      @doug5145 there is about a $30 premium difference in plan G and N and higher rate increases because unhealthy people and high utilizers of the healthcare flocke to that plan.

      @@doug5145 you will have rate increases but they will be lower.
