I went in to my husband's medicare enrollment appointment with him,and I am glad I did. Agent went right for the advantage plans without saying advantage plan, and I steered to the words ORIGINAL and medigap, and stand alone and wow!... I am very glad I was along and learned from your channel.

Marvin is the best. Finding Medicare School was the best thing that could happen to me. I learned so much and was able to straighten out the mess I made on my own.
I just thought of something. The date on my card says 05-01-2018. Does that mean I don't have to worry about Metagap, because F will take care of all the gaps if I sign up for it? Right now I only have A and B.
Sir, great video , and your thorough knowledge is deeply appreciated! I told you last year : my great grandparents are 99( World War Two, ) my grandparents are 74 in Vietnam, 68-70. So they are all on some plan but are covered through the VA. My dad Desert 🏜, parents are 48, and I in Afghanistan, 2018-2020 Captain all Army. So obviously, my parents don't need these plans, plus my mom is covered bc of my dad, through the VA. We all still watch your videos, and really appreciate you and your channel! God bless you, and be safe 🙏, Joey in Cleveland
Marvin, I am currently on an F plan since 2019. Can I move to a G plan without going through Medical Underwriting??? The cost difference between Plan F and Plan G is much higher than the $240 deductible gap. Many Thanks for the Education and Advice concerning Medicare😊
Should I go with the cheapest offering for my plan every year, or stay with the one I have even when the premiums rise? I've heard different opinions, one saying go ahead and change and the other saying the one I switch to may rise next year, leaving me to have to change again, maybe even back to the one I left this year. I'm in NY state on Plan N, this year I had AARP/UnitedHealthCare but for next year TransAmerica is cheaper. UHC raised their premiums almost $40 for next year!
In NY I don’t know why you wouldn’t change since there’s no medical underwriting and you can change every year. That’s not true in most states where you need to be more careful.
You will want to go with the most stable rated. Some carriers offer really low premiums when you first join then hike your prices up high. Those are usually the smaller/local carriers. Going with a carrier that has a good rate stability will be sufficient so when they are raising premiums it's not drastic jumps. Give us a call we would be happy to review those carriers and confirm which is the most stable rated. You can call us at 800-864-8890.
I’m 65 years old and I work full-time at a public school and I am delaying my Medicare until I retire. My wife turned 64 in August. And she works part time so that she can remain on my health insurance. When she turns 65 next year and stays on my insurance, does she have to take Medicare part B and a supplemental plan?
She can continue to be covered by your employer plan until you plan to retire. Here is a video that explains what to do if you or your spouse plans to keep working past 65 It can answer a lot of questions. If you need any other assistance our team is happy to help you can call us at 800-864-8890. th-cam.com/video/4GtRppYTHho/w-d-xo.html
Thank you Marvin for this video, it is all true based on my real life experience. I will tell the people that don't get Part B when you get Part A. My wife worked at three employers during the time I turned 65 and she time she retired and I was not covered for Part B by her plan. You must obtain from each employer a Federal form that states you are covered under your wife's coverage. And there can't be a gap, not even a month and the coverage offered after layoff or firing does not count. You must have contiguous coverage the whole time to avoid the additional Part B cost. These are the rules, just get the form as it happens for each job. My question is why are there so strict and costly rules for the people who earned Medicare and it does apply to Medicaid and illegals who all get free medical coverage. This is not right.
Yes you will be able to switch to a Medigap plan once you reach 65. Here is a video we did about this! th-cam.com/video/hTwF6ME9oeM/w-d-xo.html If you have any questions you can call our office at 800-864-8890.
You can switch with no underwriting when you turn 65 yes. You would have to do it within your initial enrollment period when turning 65, or you could miss that window. If you have any questions we're happy to help. You can reach us at 800-864-8890.
I turned 65 earlier this year and went on Medicare. At that time I was recovering from a double bypass surgery in December of 2023. I choose an advantage plan at that time, am I able to switch to a supplemental plan for 2025?
It depends on when you started Medicare. You have 6 months from the day your Part B started to get a Supplement plan with no underwriting. After that 6-month window, medical underwriting is required. However, this also depends on the state you live in, as some states don’t require underwriting. If you don’t live in one of those states, it’s possible you may not medically qualify due to the double bypass surgery. We’d be happy to help answer any questions and assist where we can. Feel free to give us a call at 800-864-8890.
Those plans all vary as the coverage is different for everyone in every state. We are happy to help review those options. You can contact us at 800-864-8890, for 1-on-1 help!
@@MedicareSchool I will be in a similar situation when I retire in about a year. My wife is 5 years younger than me and will need coverage. Does your company help with private plans as well? Thank you, your videos are excellent.
So are you saying if i was taken to the hospital emergecy room with a advantage plan and have symptoms of a heart attack you will have to wait for a authorization before the hospital treats you?? That doesn't sound right?
Disability is barely over 1k, and still force spend down to pull it back down to1k ish. Taking the 110 difference . If we're out an extra 200+ damn these programs just to get help .. it's upsetting
@doug5145 there is about a $30 premium difference in plan G and N and higher rate increases because unhealthy people and high utilizers of the healthcare flocke to that plan.
We do apologize about that, you can slow down the speed of the video at any time. If you click the settings icon in the bottom right corner of the video, and go to playback speed, it will slow the video down! I hope this helps!

can you change from the n plan to the g plan
@craigmix4760 - you must go through medical underwriting. Not a big deal unless you are unhealthy.
Depending on what state you live in, it would require medical underwriting. This can be done anytime through the year!
I have been on Medicare due to a disability for quite a few years. I do not have a Medigap plan. I'm 63 now, can I get a Medigap plan when I'm 65?

If you get a supplement do you have to pay your deductible at your first doctors visit?
Plan G and N do require you to meet your deductible before they cover any portion of medical bills.

If it’s a life threatening emergency you don’t need prior authorization but as soon as you’re stabilized the regular rules apply.

Choose plan N or HDG. Advantage and medigap plan G are both bad options for different reasons.
Why is G a problem?
@lisaelias300 with higher rate increases, you could see your premium end up being around $500 a month by the time you're 85.
