Tawang is a town in India, situated 448 km north-west of state capital Itanagar at an elevation of approximately 3,048 metres (10,000 ft). The town once served as the district headquarters of West Kameng district and became the district headquarters of Tawang district when it was formed from West Kameng. Tawang is one of the best tourist destination place in India.
The Sangestar Tso, formerly called Shonga-tser Lake and popularly known as the Madhuri Lake, is located on the way from Tawang to Bum La Pass in Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh, near Indo-China border above 15,200 ft above sea level.
The Trans Arunachal Drive is an event which will be a part of the state tourism festival and is conducted from 6th to 18th of April 2021.
Aims and objectives
1) To portray Arunachal as the driving destination
2) To identify offbeat destination (unknown or least popular) within Arunachal and promote them like Geku, pakke kesang, mariyang and dong which receives the first sunrise of the country.
3) To promote military tourism which is an fascinating and important draw for tourist with Arunachal Pradesh having three international boundaries.
4) To record the GPS track/coordinates and maintain such data for easy navigation so that tourist can download it straight from the tourist department website and use it for easy navigation. The GPS track would be interactive with all place.
