This song meant the world to me when it came out.
Una vida entera buscándola, desde 1986 cuando era apenas un adolescente. Nunca olvidé la tonada. La busqué tarareando en Google, y hoy me transportó a aquellos años.
one of the best songs ever recorded with David Essex the perfect person to sing such a beautiful song one of my most favourite songs of all times
One of my best song ever heard and still be .
I loved Mutiny (sod the "critics"} and enjoyed the live performances at the Piccadilly Theatre in London. Best of all all was the magical voice of David in duet with Frank Finlay - stunning combination. The song 'Friends' was my favorite.
Yea sode the "critics"- It was a hit musical + cast album along with hit singles
The Sets and special effects were amazing. Just like the musical TIME
I know you posted this a very long time ago but still
I saw david in mutiny in 1985 and thought the show was amazing, and by god he was one sexy sailor, still has those twinkly eyes too the whole package, can sing Act all round entertainer 😊😊 x
I was lucky to visit Tahiti many years ago..gorgeous place..would of been even better he was there too :)
Brings back such wonderful, happy memories, when life was good................
It is a great song.
Bringer mig tilbage til en glad tid i 80-erne
So much more than a Pop star , brings back so many memories from the 80s, all good memories too
Brings back beautiful memories of seeing David in the early 80's
Regrettably this show received a pasting by the critics. I always go on my own opinion. Tahiti, was well worth going to see on stage - I loved every single minute of the show.
I remember hearing this song in the 80's. I have to say that because of this song that I went to Tahiti. Bora Bora is most beautiful beach in the world. I just wished Bora Bora was in this video.
He has such a beautiful voice,
beautiful song sung by an incredibly talented singer David Essex can sing nything and put soul into it, take a look at him singing Dea Sancta from the film Stardust just to see how talented this incredible singer is x
Seen him in London in the 80s, with my sister and cousin. I was only a teenager in love like all others back then. Such a lovely man.
How many times did you blush lol
I love ❤David Essex ❤
Shes so beautiful
Got his book and as I'm Dutch I think he's one of the very talented and nicest persons in pop industry.
Is "Dutch" referencing a certain someone who has certain plans?
@TheEuroboss no...its someone who is from the Netherlands.
I think Dutch, Arthur Callahan and the crew would love this.
Saw him in this musical in west end, brilliant
Same Mutiny what a Mega Musical that was!
They should do a revival of this-I saw it twice. Once in 1986 + once in 1987!
Going to see him in October-i hope!!
A fantastic song, great video and am fascinated in the history of Mutiny on the Bounty. I give my full respect to the Christian family based in the Pitcairn Islands. A full salute and eternal respect with complete admiration for Mr Fletcher Christian.
So Good and Lovely

Did everyone else’s 1980s Mum fancy David Essex like mad, too?

He was 36 when this was filmed making him a decade older than the real Fletcher Christian was when the mutiny happened. He was actually in contention for the role in Roger Donaldson's 1984 movie The Bounty but was ultimately turned down in favour of Mel Gibson who was not just a bigger name but was 27 when filming started so much closer in age to Fletcher Christian. It does make you wonder though what would have happened if he had been cast as Gibson's and Essex's version of Christian do look vaguely similar.
Does anyone know who the name of the lady singing on Tahiti?
Awwe, its about Mutiny on the bounty! Its so sad knowing that Christian dies. That's how you know it's a true story, the good guy dies at the end and the bad guy lives and is free!
En HAK afgekapt.
Does anyone know who the lady in the video is??
Her name snitta
Her name is snitta
Sinitta!
Who's the girl?
@@johngardiner8662 it's not Frank Sinatra though, we're fairly sure of that
It’s not sinitta
