This one looks nearly identical to the plastic ones Moen has been shipping out with some faucets we've been installing, and I've got mixed feelings about them. One I installed and it had issues from the start- not popping up and down. Took it apart and it may have been that I overtightened the plastic or something and it wound up okay. The one in my house installed fine but when it pops up, there's not enough space between the rubber gasket and the mounting part and as a result, an air pocket can form, preventing it from draining quickly. I like the concept, particularly since it removes those annoying pop up rods but I think they need to do some work to how far it pops up. I'm constantly unscrewing mine part way to let the sink drain properly, compounded by the sink being one of those more square-like modern sinks which I will never EVER install again because they have nowhere near enough slope, always leaving debris behind forcing constant cleaning.
This version is junk. There are so many parts inside the drain for debris to catch on. I have to clean my drain monthly so it doesn’t stink. Go with the brass version as it is much better in quality and less complicated inside. I know because I have this plastic version in 5 sinks. Will be replacing all soon
I appreciate your feedback! It's always helpful to hear from someone with firsthand experience. The brass version does have a solid reputation for durability and ease of maintenance.

I'm glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching!
Any suggestion for the hole the lift rod was in. Also, I bought and installed this today from this video.
I usually just leave the lift rod in the hole.
Did you use putty around the top or just the little factory washer/seal?
Definitely consult the specific instructions. I use putty when called for and if it’s a deep well casting.
That Kohler pop up drain is junk. I bought one and it wouldn’t pop up or down once installed.
Sorry to hear this. Maybe a bad unit?
