I'm Brazilian from Minas Gerais state, my boyfriend and I did a DNA test and it shows both of us have the CCR5 mutation resistant to HIV and other diseases. My family and his family are direct descendents from the Suebi, a south Sweden/Germanic tribe that mixed with the Portuguese Celts. 10% of the Swedes have this CCR5 mutation, this DNA follow the modern Portuguese people to Brazil, giving us this wonderful DNA. My boyfriend has bright blue eyes and I have light hair. We are from Patos de Minas.

      Thanks for sharing that, Lauren!
The CCR5 mutation is really interesting, especially with its protective qualities-kind of mind-blowing to think something so ancient is still impacting us today.
And it’s cool how the heritage from tribes like the Suebi and Celts has made its way all the way to 🇧🇷

you have a complete misconception on how "society trys to divide people", specially when Portugal in few years is half way to not being Portugal anymore, was it even worth to be Portuguese for thousand years when millions gave their life for Portugal and now you dont recognize your people in your own land anymore? Is there something wrong to want Portugal for portuguese, or England for english people? whats the point about doing something in life then? why you even here in this page watching some of your country history if you ignore or careless about your bloodlines?

I am from Brazil, but genetically 100% Portuguese/Iberic in the main calculators. I have light brown/hazel eyes and fair skin. I was young, and my hair was reddish, blonde as a kid. And now, just white. I used to have freckles. So does my daughter. My father resembles people from Galicia, and he is an Oliveira (R1b - Haplo). My mother has blue eyes, but that can be from a central European relative - the only non-Iberic lineage I could document. The dominance of Portuguese DNA also comes from a lot of endogamy from ancient Brazilian families. And I do have native Brazilian DNA (C1- matrilinear Haplo).

the Azores was uninhabited when the Portuguese discovered the Islands, the settlers were mostly Portuguese but had smaller numbers of African slaves, Moorish Prisoners, Sephardic Jews, Flemish, Italian and other Europeans who were brought or came to settle the Islands as well.
The Azorean population is a result of these groups blending into each other, with origins predominately from mainland Portugal with minor influences from these other groups.

Mostly, However since the Azores was uninhabited at the times of discovery, other settlers from Africa and Europe came to the Islands as well, these different groups intermixed over the centuries mostly in the 1500s/1600s
Of course that doesn't really differ much from mainland Portuguese because these same groups were also present in Portugal itselfs.

Moura is not the same as Mouro. Moura is a homonym word with two distinct roots and meanings; one from Celtic *MRVOS, the other from Latin maurus. The word "moura" (alternatively, "moira", "maura"; medieval: "mora"), feminine of "mouro", is thought to originate from the Celtic *MRVOS and the Indo-European *mr-tuos that originated in Latin the word mortuus and in Portuguese/Galician the word "morto" ('dead'). Some authors think that the mouras are the deceased.

So much emphasis on surnames, by the logic of plant names, the azores would be the most celtic place on earth. Värmland belongs to the wast area the vandals came from 2000 years ago from S Norway to Vänern. The first known name VendilaR has maybe something to do with Vänern lake´s oldest name *Vendiz "the Turner", "floodlake". The vandals also settled in Portugal even though they were subdued by the Suebi... Look at icelandic people, often from this area. Their language is so old they could understand vandalic and some gothic probably... The videos: Stelpurnar á Jólagestum Björgvins sungu Það á að gefa börnum brauð or Hugurinn fer haerra

A lot of it is BS, especially the surnames part-surnames in Portugal are mostly patronimics anyway. When surnames became a thing Portugal was already an unified country. With a few minor exceptions of specific surnames, Jews and Christians had the same surnames
Also, if you add the percentages of genetic input quoted in the video, you'll get to the conclusion that we have more than 100% of genetic material
