When they fit we use them. If you notice the upgrade was only to the panel and we re feed the indoor panel with 150 amps (main is 200 amps and breaker below feeding inside panel is 150 amps) also look how far apart the utility entry is from the conduit that goes inside the house. We would have had to add a huge j box and pipe into the meter main combo pabel.
Install some solar brother. Profit margins are great contact me for info. You in south Florida and main panel upgrades are good but solar is 8-12xs more profits.
I paid $3 per watt for an installer to put in my 5.4kw array. Paid out of pilocket DIY $1.1 per watt for my self installed array. There's a lot of money to be made there. Probably $1000 / hour if you're really good and efficient. Have roofer install mounting brackets maybe. That was the only nerve racking part to me, drilling into my shingles into the center of the joists. Hit 15/16 first time no prob, missed 1 and drilled 1" over, perfect. Microflashing and sealant covered the miss, no issues in 5 years so far!
@Simonelectricfl thanks for the reply. I'm glad to see that other electrical companies are in the same boat here in South Florida. You guys got some great content, too, btw some of the information/ stardagies yall use has helped me out in the past while out in the field
That offset between the meter and disconnect is clean!
That’s an offset nipple
I LOVE YOU GUYS. Question: Why do you use 10 ft ground rods instead of 8 ft ground rods. I also use 10 ft rods just curious ??
In Canada a ground plate is accepted, just 1 ....2' x 2' x2' hole. Way cheaper
Very nice, I rather have a block wall instead of wood
For looks ?
Block does hold up better over time.
@@Simonelectricfldefinitely south Florida bc of the lizards
Good work ⚡️⚡️⚡️
Thanks😊
Great job
Good stuffs
Ooohhhh, no dead-front on the old pannel...
Its there just on the ground but good eye
Why don't you guys use meter/main panel combos? Ive seen a few panel swaps you've done and you typically go this route instead of combos
they are a pain to work in and also horribly small if its the only panel in the house

Thank you!
I remember that panel

Does the utility company get mad when you guys pull the meter yourself with permitted non emergency jobs?
This was a scheduled disconnect. The utility company pulled the meter.
Fpl in the past few weeks had not shown up during scheduled disconnects, and more times, they don't come back until the next day for a reconnect
@@richw6656 I think they are backed up from the hurricanes but i know what you mean
