As an egyptian be careful about scamming in touristic areas like the pyramids and down town khan-el-khalili. but in suburbs like madinaty and cities like new cairo you wont encounter any scamming
Thank you! This is so informative, my mind is so open lately realizing that cities aren’t what you think, this was surprising to me to hear, I like that it’s a chill and safe place, and what you said about how they treat tourists is so nice, I lived in Mexico so many years and that part was irritating, agree. Bless!!!!
If you guys work by dollar you will live like kings in Egypt and it will be very cheap for you and you can stay in areas like madinaty in the video or new Cairo or sheikh zayed all these are beautiful calm areas

Interested in moving there I’m so glad I came across this video cause I would like to know what it is to live and each of what’s the daily cost of things hottest things work when it comes to travel looking for apartments or house but anyway, I subscribed and thanks for let me know. It’s safe there.❤🇺🇸👍🏾💯
@@Only.gmail_ I can chime in here. Talking specifically about Madinaty where Eddie is filming; there are stand alone villas similar to SFH's in America. Those come with front and back yard and decent size rooms. There are also twin/town houses and those are similar to the duplexes (Brooklyn style) homes.
Eddie, what would be super interesting is to learn HOW you find places to live. Do you work with an estate agent? Or are you on your own looking through some kind of listings?
hello nle do the egyptians there ever talk about the egypt that is shown in the movies and you look like a cool person to me ty here from new york city.
The one thing about travel videos that I wonder about is that I don''t see much interaction with the natives. I'm trying to get a sense of the people in each country.
Good thing you ain't got to do no doordash over there delivering one order would take half an hour just trying to find the apartment. Please make this the most like comment.😊
Bro if you speaking English in Egypt You’re definitely getting over charged and just don’t know it. I lived there for years in every city from Cairo to Port Said. In many places prices are not set and you have to negotiate. If you’re not a local and don’t speak Arabic you are at a disadvantage.
Your phone will get snatched in Egypt as well, lived there for 17 mos. But yes it’s way safer than the states. You’re in Madinaty so yes it’s safer in that area apposed Nasr City but even in the first settlement your phone can get snatched. Btw I moving back to Egypt God willing
The prices he gave we're pretty realistic. 25000 Egyptian pounds are about 800 US Dollars which is a lot if you're looking for a normal 2-3 bedroom apartment.
All depends on the life style. Also depends on if you have cash flow coming in or not. Does not matter how much you have saved if you cant replace what you spend you can only go to zero.
No healthcare. Everything out of pocket but costs are reasonable. Not like the states. Schools for kids will be expensive because they will have to attend an international private school for English speakers. As an alternative, you can home school online. Forget about a job unless you want to teach at one of those international schools I just mentioned. That’s the only job you will get a reasonable salary doing. Online is the way to go like the author said.
I know that sounds good in your head but it's not reality. When Noah's Son's headed to the 4 corners of the world all of the different races came to be, we all mixed and come from dirt!
“Say you live in a country where locals are a little bit hostile to foreigners” you mean like 90% of United States suburbia, full of Eastern and Western European immigrants, historically some of the most racist people on earth. In fact, they invented racism. They migrate to the states and call themselves white Americans. They become united under that racist terminology - “White”- instead of logically calling themselves European Americans. The only places genuinely welcoming of foreigners in the states are places where European Americans and their descendants are not the majority. Mixing bowls of Asian Americans, Latin Americans, African Americans, Arab Americans, etc, mingling amongst each other. Unfortunately, there’s only a handful of places like that. I’ve subscribed, thanks for showing us Egypt!
Also I just have to say this: I really appreciate the way you speak. Not just the words but the points you make. I sense that you have a lot of wisdom and It’s rare for me to think that about someone.

Is it easy to make friends there?
What about dating local women?
We are Conservative, dating is a no no in general for both Muslims and Christians except for a very secularized minority
Eddie... Do you speak Arabic ?
no
What about communicating with locals? English common?
Yea, very, specially in new cairo and Heliopolis

I do not offer consultations and things but... I do have a relocation guide. It is $7 and worth every penny.
