Lovely to see this vlog. My favourite was Blackbraid despite the sound, biggest surprise was Ultha who were outstanding, Lamp of Murmuur, Panopticon and Triptykon also were fantastic
Just found out about this festival today and TH-camd it. Glad I did and thus found you guys, looked like you had a blast. Subbed for the trotters hanging out of the window and overall great energy.
@@theheavyistpodcast very lucky to have such a cool event on my doorstep, I'll definitely be going again next year. With fortress and Korn playing the open air theatre this august putting the town on the map.
@@theheavyistpodcast Yeh,just back from Beyond the Gates in Bergen, the venue is as important as the lineup i reckon, that venue and grounds beside the sea is very appealing🙂
Hey guys, saw you around a couple of times so it's nice to see this! This was honestly the greatest festival I've been to, and completely reignited my love of metal. I'm so glad you singled out Gaerea, who stole the whole weekend for me - ridiculous given how many incredible bands performed. Like you said it's theirs for the taking. When he thanked the crowd and pointed at us all midway through, I believed it; I felt like a kid again, like he was talking directly to me. Blackbraid didn't let me down either, and Thy Light were so emotional it's crazy. New sub, guys! J
Glad you enjoyed it! Gaerea are gonna be huge you're so right, they are so enigmatic and epic but also incredibly charismatic which is quite rare in BM x
@@theheavyistpodcast Yeah! Their songs are also really accessible without sacrificing any gonads in the process; and so emotional. Keep up the good work dudes, and hopefully run into you at a gig/fest down the line. J
Also had the pleasure of being here. Good to see you boys had a good time, it was such a great weekend. Misþyrming were my band of the weekend, was really excited to see them and they surpassed expectations. Sunken were the surprise package for me, opened the weekend and they were phenomenal. Obsidian Kingdom made such a good palette cleanser too, a break from black metal that ultimately left me wanting more black metal. Think I saw you two around once or twice, definitely saw you at the sausage van 😂 really enjoyed watching your experience lads
@@theheavyistpodcast I elected to completely miss Blackbraid so I could see them. Heard people were getting turned away for Regarde les Hommes Tomber the night before so I couldn’t risk it. It’s a shame you missed them, fantastic performance. Tired me out so much I didn’t bother seeing wolves!

Great job on this boys! It worked really well and you should definitely do some more.
Thank you mate! Appreciate it! I’m sure we will 😀
Enjoyed your vlog. Black metal isn't my go to genre but living in Scarborough it was a no brainer. Awesome weekend.
Thanks dude, mine neither (Gary here) but I'd definitely go again... Must be awesome having an event like that on your doorstep

Amazing looking venue, might plan a trip from Ireland...
You definitely should!

Couldn't agree more! Black metal is a very experiential genre right, vibe is important so being in a cool place all adds to that
@@theheavyistpodcast 100%,Bergen is hard to beat with the history and surrounding landscape...
This was great, more of these please (i am still shamefully behind on the pod)
Haha glad you enjoyed it dude! We're planning on doing another one for Damnation in November x

We couldn't get in for Misþyrming! We were gutted. Glad you enjoyed the video 🤘

Nice One guys - Couldn’t make it due to wife’s bday & this was the next best thing. Glad you had a great time & keep up the good work!
To be fair Steve, there has to be at least one gig a year you don’t go to. You absolute machine! See you soon hopefully dude🫡
I was there. Best band of the weekend was Regarde Les Hommes Tomber.
Ah dude, the room was one in one out so we didnt get to see them!
@@theheavyistpodcastI have a couple of vids on my channel that will give you a taste of what you missed. They were insane, as were the audience.
yeeeeeah cunce more of thissssss
Haha you're a GC
Looked brilliant guys.. what is it going to take to get BlackBraid to tour here!!??
It's a great question, they went down a storm but it was a bit of a slam dunk crowd (as in an easy win not Slam Dunk fest)
As a guess it’s close to 250,000 blast beats
Splendid stuff my dudes. Hail Satan and all that.
Thank you mate!
