Maybe someone can help. after rebuilding the H55f I had to buy a used thrust bearing cover and it is leaking bad.. and my reverse is making a grinding noise. Any suggestions? All the synchros are new, everything shifts with the exception of the grinding. Any suggestions?
hmm. i think the best i did was have a machine shop press everything together once i reassembled. also make sure you dont reget the 5th gear oiler. i did and had to take it all back apart. I would make sure you lay everything out and take your time. The one thing after driving it was maybe to replace more of the syncros. they all looked nice. But sometimes my 2nd gear doesnt like to go in until its warmed up. let me know if you run into any issues or need help
@@mizeadventure9438 Thanks for the advise. My syncro's look good but I contacted George and ordered new ones JIC based on your recommendation. I have seen others forget that dang oiler so I am being super conscious of that during reassembly. I have a hydraulic press so I plan to press the bearings back-in myself so wish me luck! Thanks for the offer of help! I will let you know how I fare...

H55 vs. H55f im guessing the f stands for fifth gear?
About to start the re-assembly of my H55F. Any thoughts before I get started? Was there anything you wish you had done differently?

Did you ever figure out what was causing it to pop out of 5th gear? Mine is popping out of 5th gear and trying to figure out whats causing it.
The sycro and gear teeth were rounded. Needed both
