Sleaford Mods: a dancing DJ and a charismatic vocalist who delivers critical lyrics about society in a vocal style that blends spoken word and pure hip-hop flow. Just like in this track that satirizes the dependency on social media, with a pulsating electronic beat, a bassline full of groove, and Jason Williamson's rough vocalization and strongly pronounced performance. This is enough to assert the aesthetic uniqueness of this band.💥🤘

So great to see them on KEXP, was not expecting this. Fookin’ Legends, and to think about 4 years ago I turned down a chance to see 'em live for hella cheap in my town.

I have twice been to festivals where these guys have been playing and, having never knowingly heard them at the time, decided not to watch them on both occasion and watched other bands instead. Based on this song, the first time I have knowingly heard them, I don't regret those past decisions as this isn't for me. But, even though I don't like their music I am pleased these guys actually exist as they offer something different and that is to be applauded. These guys have a big following so good luck to them.
For context: I am in my sixties and still go to several gigs each year watching a range artists who made their name over the last 50+ years, plus some more recent and not yet famous bands. Since live music restarted after COVID I have been to 2 weekend festivals, a few one-day festivals and gigs covering a reasonable spread of old and newish artists including:-
Black Honey (3 times), Primal Scream (twice), Katy J Pearson (twice), Holy Motors (Estonian Reverb band), The Parrots (Spanish Punk/Rock band), Nouvelle Vague, Sigur Ros, Skating Polly, Echobelly, Still Corners, Miya Folick, The Woodentops, Tess Parks, Los Bitchos, Blancmange, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Hands off Gretel, Dream Wife, My Life Story, Rozi Plain, The Orielles and most recently Prima Queen two weeks ago.

I just turned 18 in December and still haven’t been to a proper bloody concert. I don’t know if festivals are my thing yet as so many can be hella dodgy and that’s not my scene, but I’d love to go to a proper concert of a band I love, haven’t had anyone to go with until recently though.
I wouldn’t say that The Sleaford Mods are my kinda of music either, but I do love this song in particular, and I just know seeing them live would be a proper good time regardless of wether I like the music or not, you know.
I’m a big folk punk fan, but out of my two favourites one sadly passed and one has retired, sure I’ve got other favourites but they very rarely visit the UK if at all.
My mums best friend is quite similar to you though, always takes the chance to go see a band or something play live if he can; pretty sure he was following The Sisters Of Mercy around the UK on their most recent tour, going to every gig he could haha. Good for you though mate, I would love to have the time to get myself out to a variety of gigs and stuff but I’ll still take the chance to see any of my favourites the second I see them if they’re nearby.
Music is such a gift and it’s great to hear there’s other people willing to appreciate as much music as they can, even if it’s not necessarily they’re kind of music.

@@mr.churchy3356hey, 17 years old here. Festivals are amazing, just gotta find the right one. You find new music you like and maybe hear ones you know. Fortunately, my parents have a superior music taste and so I was on really good concerts since I was like 14 years old. The best one I have ever seen was The Smile (Radiohead side project). The only disadvantage of festivals is that smaller bands have just an hour for concert. Gonna see Interpol and Sleaford Mods on Colours of Ostrava. If you have enough money (they are bit expensive), time and good festival nearby, go for it.
BUT! For your own health, buy some good earplugs. I came across a concerning video this very week about how concert loudness is still increasing and how this affects your hearing. You should not really go above 85 Hz and concerts have around 100 - 110 Hz. Shortly, on those heights, you can safely listen to music FOR JUST 4 MINUTES. I will be buying some and try them out on the upcoming festival.
Well and if you will not go on festival, there are many people recording them. I have on my profile just 3 videos from superb concerts, but will definitely have more - including Sleaford Mods and Interpol (if you don't know them, check out their debut album).
Have a nice day and sorry if my english is not that good as it is not my first language.

The next time, go. You will look back and be glad you went. I turned down an invite to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers in London in 1990. I have seen tons of bands and these days I live far off the quality music circuit in Spain. Just go and enjoy. I saw the Manic Street Preachers, James, They MIght Be Giants, Thousand Yard Stare, and tons of other indie bands in the 1990s. That was my decade I suppose. Now I am happy to discover music on YT and Bandcamp. Just go along and discover stuff.
