Every time I see a shot of the car driving from the front, I can only picture Mumbo in the back of a van with a playstation remote controlling a camera
I've gotta say, for a self taught film enthusiast you have got a fantastic eye and gift for cinematography. All of these feel like big budget funded projects not from a TH-camr with a love and a passion to share. Very expertly shot and edited, well done Oli!
TH-cam productions at the top end have been better than tv for a while now. No agendas, not trying to please all demographics, no filler segments to take up prime time. When I go back to watching tv car shows it hurts.
@@cfl8874 Yep, weird but beautiful. Alfa Romeo just has some heart and soul in them that you have a bit of difficulty seeing in other cars. Whoever pens these cars and carves the first drafts really understands beauty in cars. May whoever they be ascend.
Zentrify auto correct! Uhh... when I say Alfa I mean the originals like the cars shown in the video! (Should have said that) new Alfas don’t have the same character
What a lie. Alfa have no less problems then a BMW of the same era. Our Alfa 155 went mid England - Scotland - Mid England no issues. 3 years ago it went from England to Italy to England.. no problems
He originally was really into bmx’s and into car games so I think that just lead up to this. I remember him saying something like this in one of his big dig live streams.
Petrol runs in our veins - we may have not realized it at first, but it always has. It's one of those things that you either 'get', or you don't. Definitely not the easiest of questions to give a good answer to in my opinion...
I've been a fan of classic cars and, indeed, Alfa Romeos as long as I can remember - they are truly beautiful vehicles. Knowing how you are much the same, I can only imagine how much fun this was to make Mumbo! I also recently purchased an ultrawide 21:9 monitor - this is the first video I've watched on it. Perfect combination. Thankyou for this.
The transition between interviews of one alpha overtaking the other is by far my favorite moment in this film. The way the audio shifts from one car to the other is great.
Absolutely love it Ollie. The cinematography, the story telling, the sound design, the grade. Very well done on this one :) Also those little Alfas are bloody beautiful!
I have 2 alfas, a 147 and a New Guillieta, and love them both, no matyer how much people tell me i should sell them and no matter how much they coat me, i dont care im i love with both of them.
The revealing shot of the second car is so well crafted I can't even comprehend. From the curve to the actual reveal to the hill in the road to the sound its truly breathtaking.
"Assistant and tracking car driver : Victoria" Shout out to her for driving along with such cool cars and doin damn good!😎😎 *tracking car is the camera car right? 😊
It's interesting to see old alfas like this , they're usually extremely shiny. The worn around the edges look works well and makes them a lot more practical.
I didn't even know, that the Mumbo Jumbo I knew from youtube that was showing us different minecraft redstone builds...was a CAR GUY just like me..us. And this documentaries are so...breathtaking. Actually perfect camera work I would say! Really enjoyed the video. Thank you, Mumbo.
I like how the people you film are so incredibly genuine. They are true, down-to-earth, and perhaps, most importantly, are passionate about the subject matter. It really shines through in combination with the music, the direction, and the atmosphere captured and developed in the filming.
Listening to these guys talk about their cars just makes me so proud to be a petrol head. Real petrol heads know it's not about having the most perfect example of a car but having something that you love and puts a smile on your face, it's the character and the story and the meaning behind the car not the quality that just meets the naked eye. From exotics to classic Europeans to Japanese sports to American muscle. Who cares what other people think, it's all about the smiles per miles.
I agree, especially for the interview scenes now that I've watched the full video, but still just maybe before supportive about suggesting something and he may be more inclined to try what you say
Great interview shots and car profiles! I'm also a fan of the AlphaRomeo's. I'm a fan of their dashboard designs, the horsepower that is packed into a small package. Great profile video, really top notch. Keep up the good work!
Every one of your documentaries, I get so emotional and feel completely immersed in the story. Thank you for creating such amazing, information, thought provoking, beautiful and polished videos. Hope you feel better from your sickness by the way. :)
I'm not a car guy, but the way you present these Alfas makes me fall in love with the way they look and sound. This is top-notch doc work: the edits are all about presenting the subject with the desired emotional impact. The camera and editing is never in the way, even in the rapid shots (e.g. 4:55). I'm absolutely floored at the quality of the work that the two of you do.
I came here from a random minecraft building video and all I can say is; Wow. This is not the quality of something I was expecting from a silly guy who is obsessed with redstone. As someone who loves film, has a dad who loves cars, and is very into cinematography, I am in love with what you're doing on this channel. I'm so glad I stumbled across a silly redstone build.
Mumbo, as someone who began watching your Minecraft videos religiously and now doesn't really play anymore, it has been so amazing to be able to keep supporting your content. The quality and skill behind these filming channel videos are breathtaking and I am just mind blown by the effort and talent that shines through. Keep up the amazing work because I really think you are good enough to have a future in this profession!
You are the most passionate person I have ever had the pleasure of viewing. There has never been a person more Cheerful or kind than you. Please continue making these videos, and being you.
What puts this over the top for me is how wonderfully the sound of the engines came through. I don't know how you captured that, but watching this video, I could FEEL those cars like I was right there on the road with them. You have a gift, mate. Well done!
im absolutely in love with this series. ive been showing these to my old man and he is always blown away at the camera quality and the amazing rolling shots. cheers from birmingham alabama!
ive only got a mito, but even that has more character than alot of other cars I've driven, I will probably stick with alfa for my next cars too, its cliche but they do kinda have a bit of spirit, as far as cars go, especially these ones in the vid, amazing shots btw
To preface, I have never been a "petrol head" or anything close. This video; with the cars, people, and all around fantastic cinematography/editing, has made me feel like I have missed out on so much by not having an Alpha Romeo in my life. There is a genuine sort of happy sadness after watching this video. Almost like seeing the love of your life, being genuinely happy with someone else. The amount of emotion that I felt while watching this has honestly never happened to me with any other form of media/video, etc. (Obviously there have been things in my life that have happened to me that have made me feel tons of emotions). Anyway, with my first ever comment on TH-cam, I have to say, this video right here is quite possibly the greatest thing I have ever watched. Mumbo, you have created one magnificent piece of art. Thank you.

Alpha Romeo: they’re broken all the time, all with different problems, but we love them anyway! These are absolutely beautiful! Keep it up Mumbo
