As much as I live the idea, I believe Hyundai/Kia missed an opportunity for the US market to really make an impact by not starting with a compact truck. Which is completely open market with huge demand.
This truck is competing with the likes of the Hilux and the ranger. So It's already in the compact truck category. And as of right now they can't bring it to the US because of the chicken tax. If they try to import it, they're going to get hit with a 25% tariff. Meaning the price of the car is going to be at least 25% more than in Europe and at that point it's not competing price wise with the ranger or hylix
@@fattygamer94 In the U.S. the Ranger and Tacoma are considered midsize trucks. There are newer smaller trucks like the Ford Maverick and Hyundai Santa Cruze and they are currently the only two smaller truck offerings here. This is what torokun is referring to. The midsize market here is already saturated with offerings from various brands. Kia should introduce their own compact truck to compete with Maverick and Santa Cruze.
"Hey guys, we're going to the desert to test our new truck and show hot it gets, so dress appropriately." Got it! "Ok, guys, you heard the marketing team, we're going to the desert, grab your darkest KIA branded polo shirts..."
Nissan Frontier base king cab 4x4 with naturally aspirated 3.8 V6 in the US around US $32k now, reasonable price. Bring base model Tasman 4x4 with naturally aspirated engine, no turbo, in the US for $30k. I will be interested. Otherwise Frontier is a very good option.
Unfortunately, the Kia Tasman will not be released in the North American market due to tariffs. The US imposes a 25% tariff on imported trucks. As a result, it is predicted that the price will be uncompetitive and will not be available for sale. Despite the Tasman test car being spotted in the US, it seems unlikely to be released any time soon.
Because North America is likely the biggest market for trucks in the world and they're mostly for looks. Half these idiots commute in gas guzzling trucks and constantly cry about the cost😂
You expect whatever cargo they are going to put to stay in one place? Even if whatever cargo they put in were to be buckled up, I am sure the cargo bed would be damaged one way or another...
@@Sheepletoncame to say the same.. or even in Latin America idiots think a pick up truck is a meaning of status 😅 you see dudes who think a Hilux is a luxury car
Because no one drives around with cargo in the lifestyle pickup truck. this is not f250 2wd longbed. This will most likely be used to commute daily and used as a ride to get you to camp sites on weekends.
I love it Kia worldwide keep it up. ❤❤❤❤❤❤ movement that inspire dream of inspire
We love you too! Thanks for the amazing support. ❤️

It's the epa regulations that push trucks so large. Trucks the size of like a 99 ranger made today would have to get over 80mpg
Kia is best i own right know kia niro and and its very compact and useful car i like that tasman too #kia is best keep it up boys ❤
So happy to hear you're enjoying the Niro. Stay tuned for the Tasman too! 😎
Endurance meets innovation-Kia Tasman dominating the desert with ease and style.

Why those wheel arches though 😢
made in Korea。❤
Refined in Australia
Will the Tasman be bigger than the Santa Cruz?
Yes, It's midsize pickup truck. The size is like Colorado.
I expect it is built on a Kia truck chassis k2700
That's nice... when's the PHEV version coming out?
Not PHEV, EREV yes
@@탬니TMwe'll take either one!
is this the final form ?
when it is launching in BHARAT???
So is this coming to the USA or not?
If it is then I hope they give it a decent payload capacity.
Made in Korea 👍
I hope Kia tests the Tasman truck in the Amazon jungle.
I like KIA ❤

Like the Hyundai Santa Cruz, if Kia produces the Tasman at its U.S. factory, tariff issues will disappear.
They are considering building these in new factories in GA.
It'll get built in the same plant the telluride, sportage, and k5 are made stateside

Kia needs to compete with Ford Bronco and Toyota Land Cruiser J70

Maybe they should see if the camels can steal it!

Who else think the front bumper in so ugly
The tires still looks new, the engine and the whole truck has hardly any sand. Looks like it was tested for few hours 😅
America's stupid effing chicken tax smh 🤬
Not a nice looking truck , keep it overseas
Hope Not a EV
If the name "tasman" is so aussie, why won't they go to the simpson desert??

Outdated technologies. We need hybrid phev pickups like byd shark, but from KIA!
It’s not an EV…rip
Terrible paint job. Who's buying that.
It's a vinyl wrap camouflage they put on test vehicles to disguise the styling.
This thing is so ugly…😂
