Paul - I must be getting old or soft, I think this is the second or third comment I've left on your channel, and I never do that! What makes you different is that despite your success (well deserved), you're not changing, thanks. Again, really good content, changing it to cater for lock down, and keeping in touch with your viewers and subscribers. Interesting to see that variety of equipment you have and I like your practical views on the stuff, not just praising up the high end pieces. Hope you're keeping morale up during difficult time - keep going sir, great job !
Thank you for your kind words. I just try to be the person I'd like to subscribe to if I was a viewer. Someone who is just being them-self. I've learned such a lot from youtube and I enjoy giving a bit back.
Just wait for a few more years . I have gear going back to the late 50's and I still get more. My wife ( every time a new package arrives ) likes to remind me that I already have enough camping and backpacking things to start my own store. I remind her you can never have to much. Thinking about it , my youngest daughter and her husband stopped by. When they left they had ( 2 tents ) plus everything else a person needs up to and including two of my hand made , wooden , boats ( A Canoe & a Kayak with paddles ). You really could not tell anything was missing except for the 2 boats not being there. I hate ( really hate ) to admit this but , you know , my wife might be right after all. lol
I recommend getting some silica gel packets to put in your plastic bins, sleeping bags and tents. This will absorb moisture and prevent mildew and musty smells from getting into your gear, especially if you store it in a garage or basement.
My wife thinks I have way too much hiking and outdoors gear. I’m going to show her this video and ask her to apologise 🤣. Great video as always Paul and really interesting to see some of your kit 👍
@@Corcioch it’s no use Cormac. My wife still won’t agree. I reply by pointing out how many pairs of shoes she has and then i end up sleeping on the sofa 🤣
I was admiring your winter layering this very day. Not sure getting your wife to watch the video and asking for an apology will go as well as you'd hope 🤣😂
My stuff is just stored in my pack at the moment. Waiting for lockdown to be over so I can travel somewhere nice to use it. I only have the one set of kit. Sleeping bag is pretty cheap but fine for 2.5 seasons I'd assume based off when I used it last year.
One thing I love about this hobby is the different kinds of people there are, cause I couldn't bear to have that much kit, honestly, but I appreciate that it comes with your job and brings you a lot of joy too! I really enjoy seeing peoples kit collections as it helps me learn more about other items I might wish to upgrade to down the line. When I upgrade one item, I try to sell on the thing I was replacing if it's fit to sell. Though I must say, your collection is super organised and looks well maintained! Good job, and great vid!

I’m an avid watcher of your stuff, especially since Ireland is in a level 5 lockdown right now and we can’t go anywhere!
I thank you for all the gear you have ! I'm a total novice at camping, and have made most of my gear purchases from your reviews. Hoping to get out sometime this year . Thank you Paul.
Hi Paul, gave you a gentle plug with Hilleberg, they had just released their new catalogue and I gave you as the introduction. Covet a Soulo but the ask is greater than the desire. I started rebuilding my kit after over 20 years without a trip, and my tent from SnowGum had shed all the waterproofing. It was heavier than the new stuff so the adventure of acquisition started. Bought a Sierra Designs Clip Flashlight as the idea of the awning appealed. Watching more clips brought the idea of two entrances to the fore, I might try to get my wife along at some point. So I settled on an Anaris as I am not likely to need a 4 season tent for a while here in Queensland. I will wait in anticipation for your review of the Sierra Designs Cloud 20, the concept is really interesting. No zip and an escape port for your feet. Enjoy your material, and hope you and Jo stay safe.
I still use my "pindipacker" two man tent made by Ultimate in the late seventies. Weighs in at six pounds and has held up in hurricane force winds. Lots of room and it set me back a months pay.
Be careful with those storage boxes because any moisture will turn into mould eventually. At scouts, we use the same Really Useful boxes and drill holes into the side to let some moisture evaporate.
Hi Paul, I made sure my wife was in the room when I played this video! I had to show her that there’s someone out there with more camping gear than me😂😂. Thanks, keep it up 👍
Yes I still have my gear from the 60s and 70s! The weight penalty is huge I really dont know how I carried that weight for long distance hiking and long distance winter snowshoeing
I could watch you go through every item in detail - love the gear videos! I would be interested to see a similar one on the hiking clothing/footwear you have accumulated. Your cupboard is way more organised than ours. Going into ours is like something out of Indiana Jones, you may end up running from something big!
